yyhakusho, sorry my wife called during our Guile/Bison match and I had to call her back. I may be around a bit more in a few minutes if you still are.

BTW, man your Viper is tough. I play so many lesser Vipers with Dhalsim that it makes me forget what a tough matchup that can be.

Is anyone able to consistently link Fei's chicken wing into standing punch --> rekka as a full combo in online play (not training). I can do it virtually every time in training, but it seems to just not be happening in online play.

Still gyrating between Fei, Sagat and Blanka. I really want my Adon...he's like a combo of all 3. The long foot-range of Sagat, the fast jumps and full-screen mobility of Blanka, and the mid-screen punish game of Fei.

    REALLY, REALLY WANT.

Other tough characters for Dhalsim include Cammy, Bison, Blanka and very defensive Sagats, Kens and Ryus. I get a lot of people switching to Cammy if I beat them the first matchup, but most don't know her well enough to take advantage of the great matchup.

I get hit by it often enough to know that some people can connect them, but I've had trouble with this myself.

I don't know Adon, but all I hear is the good. What are the the drawbacks/weaknesses?

Bison is just deceivingly fast and does ridiculous damage. Same with Blanka, and I think the learning curve is lower for him. Your Fei surprised me a bit and did pretty well. It was pretty close in that third round when we got disconnected.

Played today for the first time in a while - been trying to learn the console version lately (had my first tournament yesterday - got past the first round, at least! :)) and, as a result, kept trying to do stuff that's not in the iPhone version. Although, to be fair, I was no worse than usual!

As a result of my console exploits (and I use the word in it's broadest possible sense) I now feel that the 'phone game really needs Rose adding ASAP. Actually, since I'm an idiot, I'd probably just get confused and mix the two games up. Maybe better that Rose keeps away from the handheld arena after all...

Along the same line as the jonogunn, do people on here play with SP Assist on? It seems like everyone I play that has a 1000+ BP is playing Super SP Assist Fighter instead of the real game.

This isn't the real game. It's a mini version of the real game and should be treated as such. The real game is either on your home console, arcade, or pc.

To not use the SP assist would be to put yourself at a disadvantage. It sounds like you don't use SP assist, but also look down on players that do.

Lets look at the SP assist from this point of view. The SP assist allows everyone to easily pull off special moves and what not at a push of a button. That means the game really all comes down to: reflex, strategy, timing, and mind games. Being able to accurately perform a special, super, or ultra is not the point of this version of the game.

To think "Meh, that guy only beat me because he has SP assist on" is really an excuse to make yourself feel better for putting yourself at a disadvantage.

To play with out the aid of the SP is an admirable decision, but to look down on those that choose not to is just sad.

So to answer your question, Yes I use SP assist and I believe a lot of the players here do so as well.

The "real game" has a joystick and real buttons. On Volt, there's not much choice if you want to enjoy the game in my opinion.

Edit: As mentioned above, SP Assist also makes the game more about strategy.

So in other words, you guys just want to play the strategy half of the game and ignore a good portion of the dexterity part of it. I am not trying to look down upon you, for me if I am going to bother playing the game I am going to actually play the game, not a dumbed down version of it.

edit: yeah, blah blah blah it already is a dumbed down version of SSF4, I am looking at the game in itself, not the SF4 brand. The game is completely different than console versions of the game due to the lack of buttons.

That's actually a good way of looking at it. I'm actually envious of you now because I know you will enjoy the game a lot more then anyone of us here.
