I'd say my favorite meter wasting combo is: Chicken Wing>Flame Kick>FADC>Chicken Wing> Ultra. Does a solid 478 damage and 370 Stun but at the cost of two bars and a wasted three hit Ultra, considering my usual BNB level 3 Focus>Ultra does 517 Damage and 200 stun without the use of meter its not worth it to waste it unless I'm really beating on someone.
I've used that combo and killed on the last hit of the ultra. Against some characters who are tough to hit with a focus (sagat, bison) that's not a total waste of meter because fei's ultra can't be linked into any other way. But yeah, for the most part it's a meter waster, but oh so pretty.
as gief: ex banishing flat cancelled on 2nd hit into focus. Stylish as hell. As Blanka: using super to chip out on round 1. as saggy: anything involving fadc'ing a tiger shot looks pimp.
My favorite meter wasting combo is: Ryu - Jump Kick, St. P, Hadoken xx FA lvl2, St. P, Shoryuken, FADC forward, Metsu Hadoken. 494 Damage, 720 stun. Or Ryu - Jump Kick, St. P, Hadoken xx FA lvl2, St. P, EX Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, EX Shoryuken. Get the timing just right for the EX Shoryuken and it's 488 damage and 800 stun. Or Sakura - Jump Punch, Cr. Hp, Shouoken, FADC forward, Cr. Hp, EX Tatsumaki somethingorotherpukyaku, EX Shouoken, Shinku Tengyo Hadoken. The timing is rather strict but... 583 damage and 597 stun. Does 501 damage and 626 stun if you FA lvl2 instead of an FADC. Or Ryu - Jump Kick, St. P, Hadoken xx FA lvl2, St. P, EX Tatsumaki Senpukyaku, EX Hadoken, Metsu Hadoken. It does a nice 517 damage and 770 stun. Or Akuma - Jump Punch, Double Kick, St. P, Gohadoken xx FA lvl2, Double Kick, St. P, Gohadoken xx FA lvl2, Wrath of the Raging Demon. 524 damage and 718 stun. Or Makoto - Jump Punch, St. P, St. P, Cr. P, EX Hayate, Fukiage, EX Tsurugi. I forget how much damage and stun this does, and don't have time to test, unfortunately. I could continue but it's getting sort of boring, but the combos are extremely fun to pull off, and most have a high stun rate.
What parts are you having trouble with? I find it easier albeit less damaging to FA lvl2 than FADC out of Shouoken. Or if you're have trouble with the EX Shouoken part, try jumping and do either the hurricane kick or EX hurricane Kick. The timing is a bit tough to land the Shinku Tengyo Hadoken after that, but it's easier than the EX Shouoken. And might be more damage and do more stun. I didn't check.
yeah, i struggle to consistently hit the cr. hp into the EX Tatsu after the fadc - it's a narrow link
Ive been playing her a fair bit lately. BNB is cr lk X2 ex legs. My main plan with her is poke with sweep, standing medium punch and nuetral jump kick. if you want to go on the offensive throw a fireball then walk up and you can either hazanshu, sweep, or throw. sweep and throw lead to less damage but get a knockdown. as soon as you hazanshu hold down back. if it hits do ex sbk for really good damage. if its blocked backdash, sweep, throw or do it again. her ultra is really easy to combo into. hazanshu-ex legs- ultra works when theyre a little bit closer than half way from the corner, or through fireballs. there are other ways to land it but theyre the most reliable. basically just mix up hazanshu, sweep and throw. nuetral jumping is also really effective. she has the best air to air in the game. my favourite combo with her is hazanshu, cr lk X2, fireball, fadc, low fierce cancel first hit into ex legs, ex legs. but thats just for trolling
Sounds right. I don't really know what I'm doing with Chun Li yet but at least I'm having fun with her. I don't have any memory of those matches aside from thinking that I had seen you around TA.
ex cannon strike, ex cannon strike, ex cannon strike, ex cannon strike, ultra OR ex cannon strike, ex cannon strike, ex cannon strike, ex cannon strike, cannon strike, low hard punch, low medium kick, spiral arrow
Huh. Just found out that I can get 641 dmg, 636 stun, with j.P, s.P, EX Shouken, FADC, s.P, EX Shouken, upward Ultra. You can also get 656 dmg, 636 stun, if you replace s.P with cr.P. Works from about one body width past the middle of the screen, i.e. with opponent's center directly over the first 10-square demark on training stage. I've found s.hp to be easier to link that c.hp, but it might just be psychological.
barely-off-the-ground ex cannon strikes. it works. the hitstun from the EX, along with the reduced EX strike recover, lets you pull it off. i was astonished. i found the motion d-db-b-uf-SP to work well. edit: and you're practically doing the d-db-b for the next EX strike while your current one is executing, so that you're hitting uf-SP on recovery from the current EX strike. doube edit: incidentally, d-db-b-ub-SP also works, although I suspect that shortcut does the neutral jump version, rather than the jump-forward version.
What mooken said, but i dont recommend doing it in a match. Waste of meter and very easy to stuff up.
Yeah, those ex cannon strikes are a really difficult motion. I'm really loving Sakura right now, her combos are really fun and her focus attack is killer. Might take her online for a spin.
Let me know if you manage to find a good anti-air, esp for wake-up. EX-Shouken seems to be the closest thing I can find at the moment, and that's a complete crapshoot at best.
Haha, did Sakura's ex tatsu into regular tatsu, and it sends your opponent flying across the screen. They land at almost full screen! In the corner it can be used as a tricky reset because they land on their feet, but you land before them, so you can do a quick throw before they know what happened.
