It's actually more like starcraft 2, but yes it draws many "inspirations" from the popular Blizzard title. However, that's not a bad thing at all. It's honestly more reason to look forward to this game xD.
lol good point. Key Features An RTS with intuitive touch controls that give you total control over your forces. Hone your strategy with three different factions each with unique tech trees and tactics. Complete a 20-mission campaign and create your own battles thanks to the Skirmish mode. Discover the deep and engaging story of a war for resources, told throughout the solo campaign. The first 4-P Local and Online multiplayer mode. Connect to Gameloft Live 2.0 and compete to rule the leaderboards.
Lol, third time that video is posted to this thread. But, admittedly I watched it again. Hopefully it comes out within the next week or the one thereafter.
it doesnt look gritty? enough, to clean and colours are outrageous and clean. Check Mirrors edge. No rooftop looks that clean, like this battlefield is super clean, like they hired some spanish maids to wade amoungst the carnage to clean it up.
I've managed to play the game pre-release and it's awesome. The multiplayer is soo much fun. And I'm not even a Starcraft fan.
I will make a guess that the release will be this Thursday... But this is merely a guess.. There is no evidence, but seeing that they have gameplay video in that podcast it will be released really soon.
It's probably in apples hands already and being overviewed right now. Either this week or next week people
My concern is how good the computer AI is at both macro-management, micro-management, and the individual unit AI (pathfinding, etc.)? Gameloft is promoting the 4 person multiplayer, but I don't necessarily see myself having a lot of time to play what could be protracted RTS battles on an iDevice. What I'm always up for though is a good efficient comp stomp. Hopefully their quick battle AI skirmish mode is at least 4 player with any combination, like human + computer vs 2 computers, 3 computers vs human, and human + 2 computers vs computer, along with different AI difficulty settings. And hopefully Gameloft is spending all lot of time not just on graphics, but also on balance since that's even more important in a RTS.
^In most rts player's minds, a rts does not exist but for an effective multiplayer system. However, gameloft is also advertising 20 campaign levels and 5 skirmish maps. I doubt the computer will be very effective at micro or macro though; that's honestly not even present in starcraft 2.
Well, as a newbie player, I got my ass kicked by the AI in the 8th mission, so it's a nice challenge. Any way, the AI has some surprising moves but after you play a while the only challenge will be MP.
But the AI in Starcraft 2 *could* have much better micro, it's much easier for computers to do micro than even the fastest humans. I think the main reason they don't put in better micro is because it makes the game less fun for most human players if the computer dances around them faster than they can possibly react to.
