This is kind of out of topic but I wonder when the developers/publishers are going to put the apple logo on their upcoming games (example: Splinter Cell: Conviction coming soon to {the xbox 360 logo}, {PS3}, {PC}, and {the Apple logo}).
news from pocketgamer: It wasn't but a week ago that Gameloft tweeted its not very mysterious teaser site for a new iPhone Splinter Cell game, and already we can confirm that Splinter Cell: Conviction is indeed coming to the iPhone. Gameloft is showing the game off at this year's GDC. It apparently uses the Terminator Salvation engine, adopting a third-person view and giving you a mix of sneaky and gung-ho levels to fight through. Splinter Cell: Conviction is due before the end of March. Look out for screens and a full preview later today
Why terminator salvation engine???? I hated that game and all gameloft games before it. The game that changed my opinion of gameloft was modern combat...Most of their games since then have been awesome. Why not have a nova engine for this one ??
Screenshots are up!!! http://www.slidetoplay.com/story/tom-clancys-splinter-cell-conviction-hands-on-preview
They might be using the Terminator engine, but that looks much better than Terminator Salvation. I assume it has been upgraded (just like they upgraded the Gangstar engine for Skater Nation). I could write exactly the same thing about their new zombie game, too.
It is the Terminator engine http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/iPhone/Tom+Clancy%27s+Splinter+Cell%3A+Conviction/news.asp?c=19008 And the official title is Splinter Cell : Conviction
Here's a screenshot of Terminator Salvation: Here's one from Splinter Cell: Conviction: I would call that a major upgrade.
Screenshots are great, but you think in today's day and age they would have video ready to go to show off their games.
It's simply marketing strategy. They want to keep you in suspense and also as far as I know it's still in developing so no need to show off an unfinished artwork
Agreed -- though they did bring a playable demo to GDC that seemed to impress a lot of people (even the folks at Kotaku). By the way, from the front page article: EDIT @frendil: Yes -- you can see them on Slide To Play.
