Okay, you have to consider all the elements to a mac. 1. Made in America 2. Great customer service from people who speak ENGLISH and who know what they are talking about 3. Very user friendly 4. Constant updates 5. The most environmental friendly computers by a long shot. It is worth paying extra for a company that really gives a crap
Wow... how many times does the OP need to say he's not interested in a Mac. It's nothing personal, just not what they are looking for.
okay so macs are great its a no brainer trying to pick one out you just buy the most expensivier one cause with macs more money = the betterers. but what should a person do to find a good pc and/or laptop? im thinking that if macs use intel processors and nvidia geepeeyus then maybe there is a pc with similar components. even if there is a person could possibly custom order a laptop with those things. but would it perform as well as a mac? just curious because everyone seems to like macs but for a person who is used to windows and would rather not deal with getting used to a new OS(even if its a better OS that is easy to get into) is there some kinda mac wannabe type pc?
OK, here's my 2 cents. I have a macbook pro. I also have a Desktop PC. I prefer Mac, for several reasons: 1. Built to last. Before my MBP, I had an iBook. Even after FIVE YEARS,it ran alright (And this was a crappy computer in terms of specs). I expect this MBP (2.66 Ghz dual core processor, 4 gb ram) to last me a long time. 2. GENIUS BAR. Even though some of apple's genius bar employees can be douchebags, they are just so damn helpful. I've messed up my iPod so many times (jailbreaking, lol ) and they replaced it every time (FIVE TIMES!) 3. Mac OS. some hate it, i love it. I can't tell you how many times my pC has frozen and ctrl+alt+delete doesn't work. Force quit ALWAYS works. Anyways, if you do go with a PC, which I'm sure you will anyways, DON'T YOU DARE BUY AN ACER. I had an Acer Aspire One, and it sucked. And I got a defective battery. Then they replaced that defective battery after emailing them a million times with ANOTHER DEFECTIVE BATTERY. Then they just didn't email back any more. It's sitting in my closet, nothing more than a big paperweight. Also, Dell is pretty shitty too IMO. They're not what they used to be. HP is alright, and Sony Vaio is actually pretty good IMO. Definitely go with HP or Vaio.
Can't agree more. They used to be pretty decent, too. Wonder what happened. I used to have an old Asus, though, that was amazing. No hyperbole, it ran XP, and naturally had crappy battery life, but it ran like a dream. I think they're going down the tubes, too, though. My dad got a new model that's heat is cracking the plastic body. I'm sure they're some good, elegant PCs out there, you just gotta look for them. I've had good experiences with Vaio besides the insane amount of works it takes to remove every trace of the bloatware.
See I had a vaio for 3 years and it served me great... It seems everyone has a grudge against every company. Dell, Sony, Apple, Hp, Acer...
I'm telling you, don't ever go with Acer. It's not a grudge they are just awful. Both of my brothers had Acer computers, and thought they were shitty too. In fact, one of my brothers had a few keys fall off on his keyboard (unable to be put back on, the keys broke) and he had a warranty, and Acer wants him to pay for the shipping of the 17" laptop. It would cost him almost 100 bucks just to ship it both ways! He just decided to leave it, needless to say. Acer is the worst company ever created. I hope they go bankrupt, they have some of the worst service I've ever seen. /rant. lol and again i dont have a ton of experience with Vaio, but my brother now has the Vaio Z series, and he loves it. Portable, lightweight, good battery life, decent CPU (maybe not for games though, sounds pretty good to me.
So far I have been very pleased with dell, sometimes they are a pain in the ass, but for the most part as a PC maker they seem to have their crap together...
My HP has been going strong for about... damn, 6 years now. The only realy sign of wear is the A, S and D letters have rubbed off the keys. Not once had a problem with viruses either and I've never had an anti-virus running, suck on that Norton and your rip-off subscriptions. Common sense FTW.
Yea, even though I love macs, the virus argument is a joke. There's less viruses because there's less Macs. Period, end of story. It's the truth.
