Think its possible for this game to have local and online multiplayer? Dog fights a la Starcontrol 2/ Ur quan Masters?
I ended up playing this for 3 hours straight today, and I can say that I fully agree with the review so far... it feels like a very refined game. The pacing and balance is outstanding; enemies, ship upgrades, and mission difficulty never feel too hard or too easy to accomplish. A big surprise is that I'm actually interested in reading the dialog between characters... it's entertaining. Not long winded, not dry, and lightly humorous. Combat reminds me of a MUCH more forgiving and less intense "Meteor Blitz." I highly recommend this one.
I like the way you have to fight the last boss, it made it a lot more interesting of a battle. And the way you get to read the credits is the most original I've ever seen.
I second that. There is no need for title on the icon. An image of a souped up ship blasting through an asteroid would be more epic.
Oh, 3 or 4 hours, I didn't do 100% on every sector but I did all the side missions and I got every ship upgrade I wanted well before I finished the game (it makes it go a lot faster).
aww... so hard resisting to buy this game from all of these raving reviews. But I have to choose between BIA 2 or this, so I want to wait until BIA is at least out, but judging from the community feedback, this seems to be the pinnacle of Iphone games. Will this be on sale any time soon? If not I might just pick this up now.
They've just released a game to huge acclaim from reviews and the public, it's sailing up the App Store charts and it's only going to get more attention. I can't see any reason why they'd want to drop the price anytime soon to be honest, why would they?
Game Impressions I have played for ~6h nice game, all in all I could have spent more time exploring and cleaning sectors... but you level all the way up to tier 6 "so fast" - there should be at least 1.5x points to next level as it is now so you will have to mine more (concentrate on economic part of a game more) even after you have enough $$$ to gear up your ship but not enough to level up and boost the story whole story is nice BTW - not too complex, yet not too shallow... and humorous fighting is a bit chaotic (or is it my strategy: best capacity + fast shields + slow engine = huge inertia) and all in all it ended up as staying face-to-face with boss and firing weapons till boss is out (with a few seconds of dodging for loading a shield up if boss was able to overcome recovery rate) also credits are unusual I like the fact that you can't have all "technologies" in one game - it encourages to play again and due to reactor's constrains you actually can't have "all the best at once" so you have to think of some strategy
The game is selling well, so I would expect the price to remain where it is. But you know how it is: any developer who promises not to do a sale will likely be proven a liar eventually. The game is well worth the current price, but I understand waiting till you can compare it to something that's coming out soon. I can guarantee one thing, though: Space Miner will have a better story than BIA2 (knowing Gameloft).
If you go to thecomments in the tA review, the dev himself says that the game will not have a sale until 12 months
Yea, a lot of devs say they wont have a sale in a looong time, then they do. Just got the game gonna sync it into my iphone soon Im gonna see how great the game is myself
