Awesome, congrats on the release! Played SH1 quite a bit, this is an instabuy. Are the mushrooms gone? pokeb Well-Known Member Jan 26, 2010 58 0 6 London, UK http://spaceharvest.com #5 pokeb, May 28, 2015 Thanks so much, I really hope you like the new game! *Absolutely not*. It wouldn't be a Space Harvest game without mushrooms!! The giant mutant mushrooms have got smaller and changed colour. Jayg2015 Well-Known Member Jan 5, 2015 3,734 41 48 Male Player 1 Liberty city #6 Jayg2015, May 28, 2015 What are the differences of the two games . Any addons pokeb Well-Known Member Jan 26, 2010 58 0 6 London, UK http://spaceharvest.com #7 pokeb, May 28, 2015 Compared to the first one, the new game has: * Vastly better AI - AI players expand their bases, adapt what they're building according to what they can see of your own bases and units. Friendly AI players are no longer a liability. * Much improved pathing * Multi-level maps - you can use higher ground to your advantage * A lot more unit types - the new game has a better balance of different units, each with their own strengths and weaknesses * You can zoom all the way out to see (almost) the whole map at once, negating the need for a mini-map * Bigger battles - the game supports up to 5 players (4 AI players, plus one human player) with 100s of units on screen * Custom game mode - once you finish the campaign, you can play games against AI teams where you control the rules (e.g. what units each team can build, cash they start with, AI difficulty etc) * Completely new engine built from the ground up for iPad - it supports real-time 3d-lighting effects, even on older devices, and the maps in the game are a lot more graphically complex than the first game. iPad 4 and above support full-resolution retina graphics too. * Awesome music * 3 difficulty levels for each campaign mission - a lot of people found the first game too difficult, so you can adjust the difficulty if you get stuck * Cute robots to help you build things! There's probably lots more, but that's all I can think of for now. Grimstone82 Well-Known Member Jan 3, 2011 594 0 0 Northbrook, IL #8 Grimstone82, May 28, 2015 I completely forgot about SH1, I loved that game! Definitely grabbing this one! raravan Well-Known Member May 18, 2014 829 38 28 #9 raravan, May 28, 2015 any chance that we have an iPhone version of this gem? sleb Well-Known Member Feb 7, 2010 385 3 18 Ohio #10 sleb, May 28, 2015 I loved the first one. Kept it on many machines. Added to the must get list! pokeb Well-Known Member Jan 26, 2010 58 0 6 London, UK http://spaceharvest.com #11 pokeb, May 28, 2015 @sleb @Grimstone82 Glad you liked SH, hope you like the new one! Never say never, but I don't have any plans for an iPhone version atm. I know this is going to limit the audience for what is already quite a niche game, but I worry that it wouldn't work as well on the smaller screen, especially on the older phones. If enough people express an interest, I'll certainly think more about how it might work. hincy89 Well-Known Member May 15, 2011 135 0 0 #12 hincy89, May 30, 2015 Never heard of this is the first a must or can I skip to this one? pokeb Well-Known Member Jan 26, 2010 58 0 6 London, UK http://spaceharvest.com #13 pokeb, May 30, 2015 Playing the first game isn't necessary - it's not really a story-based thing. The first game (http://one.spaceharvest.com) has been free for a couple of years, so there's no harm in grabbing it. Do remember that it was my first published game, and it was designed for the original model iPhone, so it's perhaps not quite as technically/visually impressive as an iOS game from 2015. The second game (in my obviously biased opinion) is better than the first one in pretty much every way, so if you're short on time/patience, I'd go straight for the new one. Grimstone82 Well-Known Member Jan 3, 2011 594 0 0 Northbrook, IL #14 Grimstone82, May 30, 2015 This game is a VAST improvement on the first (already amazing) game! I'm only into the second level (the first after the initial contest) and I am completely sucked into it. There is a ton of stuff going on and you really need to be on your toes at all times. There aren't that many truly great and truly original RTS experiences on iOS, so a game like this is a breath of fresh air. Anybody who is a fan of RTS games absolutely NEEDS to pick this bad boy up. I don't have anything to do today so I'm probably going to be glued to my iPad screen all day now If anybody has any questions about it feel free to ask. Grimstone82 Well-Known Member Jan 3, 2011 594 0 0 Northbrook, IL #15 Grimstone82, Jun 6, 2015 I don't get the lack of interest in this game! It's easily one of the best RTS games on iOS. It's super challenging, but not overly difficult, and really just sucks you in. Come on guys, give it a shot! We need this dev to stick around! pokeb Well-Known Member Jan 26, 2010 58 0 6 London, UK http://spaceharvest.com #16 pokeb, Jun 7, 2015 Ha ha, it's nice to have one fan, anyhow - so glad you're enjoying it. I'm working on adding Game Center achievements to the game atm, hopefully these will be in the first update. LarryWP Well-Known Member Dec 19, 2013 89 0 0 #17 LarryWP, Jun 8, 2015 I'm going to buy it right now. I saw this in another thread, Sid Meiers Starships thread. I'm playing the first one now and when I'm done I will be buying the second. It sounds awesome. It's great when developers actually answer questions and feedback. Talbs Well-Known Member May 1, 2011 2,616 377 83 #19 Talbs, Jun 9, 2015 This seems great, so I've just downloaded the first version for play later. Only 9.6mb download and free, seemed like a good place to start. If it's good, I'll be interested in 2 for sure, though the iPad only thing could be a killer. IMO iPad only can limit games appeal big time. Unless the game is a blockbuster then iPad only cripples it somewhat. Hope you're considering an iPhone make. Having said that I haven't played yet so maybe it's just not suitable in text size etc. Grimstone82 Well-Known Member Jan 3, 2011 594 0 0 Northbrook, IL #20 Grimstone82, Jun 9, 2015 2 is definitely a vast improvement over 1, but 1 is still an amazing game. About the iPad only thing- I can't imagine playing it on an iPhone, the screen is way too small to be able to comfortably manage so many units. It's chaotic enough as is on my iPad Mini Retina, I just don't see it being fun on the iPhone. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
