A rogue-like game is usually procedurally generated and turn-based with a character that levels up to get stronger as the game gets harder; mostly via progression to a 'deeper level' or something akin to that. Classic examples are Hack, Moria (my first Rogue-like experience when I worked at DEC back in 1984), Rogue(duh!), Angband, Larn and Omega (I loved this). There was also an amazing Rogue-like I played way back, called Doomsday 2000 or Mission: Thunderbolt; this had so many subtle features and remains to this day my favourite. I guess the best modern-day Rogue-like would be Diablo? Anyway, that's my understanding of what rogue-like means ;-) bigjack66 Well-Known Member Aug 5, 2013 664 0 0 #15 bigjack66, Aug 7, 2014 Ah! Ok! Somebody correct me please, but i reached level 15 and no new enemies or patterns or challenges are coming. Actually, all enemies are thrown in very early. I could have gone forever if i wouldn't have played it in portrait mode to spice things up a bit. This way, you see maybe a fifth of the screen and enemies. The beautiful art-work looks definitely cooler that way. Still, well worth this little buck. mittense Well-Known Member Aug 7, 2014 82 0 0 Creative Director Austin, TX #20 mittense, Aug 7, 2014 This bug snuck in at the last minute and it infuriates me, but it's going to be fixed in the first update.
