It's not for jailbroken devices; It's actually part of the software. You can install as many icons as you would like on your device but the OF stops making pages at a certain point. So in order to launch those apps you have to use a spotlight search. There is a few things to know though: 1. Your last page must be full 2. Dragging an icon to the last full page will knock the last icon on that page into the nothingness 3. You can replicate this in iTunes while rearranging pages in the Applications tab 4. If you have empty space on any page then the apps that were pushed into the nothingness will eventually return and fill those spaces.
Thanks...All of my Ipod touch devices are non jailbroken, this is why I wanted to try this out. I was able to knock things off the last page into nothingness but this never became a 12th page. I was able to search for the games as long as I knew the title and play them. Not sure what I am doing wrong since I can't get the extra page.
What you have IS the "extra page" The OS can only display 11 pages (Search makes 12) after that the OS stops making new visible pages; but you can keep adding things which is the important part. I usually push off things like What's On, Weather Bug, Gas Cubby, etc. They are all things I use often but I search to get to them anyways
Yeah, it seems the 3GS may have some stability issues. At least mine did. Hopefully this will fix what appears to be some unresolved bugs.
After an update I have noticed issues with Safar and Mail. Sometimes it just freezes and display turns black... Only device reboot helps.
i have 18 pages right now. the next app ill be at 19. im assuming it will let me do it.. and the dots that show pages will just go off the page.. and ill have to scroll through them. apple should just add this option to the os for us. chris.
You can have 11 visible pages and 14 'hidden pages' of apps. You can have more apps than that, but you can only access those with Search. Rixx
I'm surprised they didn't update the predictive text/auto correct so it changes ipad to iPad for us....
Definitely not true. Using the 'page glitch' (i.e. fill pages 1,2 and the last page, put voice recorder at the end of the last page, move an app on that page to push it into the void, reboot) I have 31 pages on my 2nd gen iPod touch (not jailbroken.) I've currently got 473 apps clocking in at about 11GB. The page dots at the bottom of the screen expand with the new pages and are centered, so with this many pages you won't see a white dot when you're near the beginning or the end of your pages (no big deal.) Search starts crashing at around 500 apps, crashes all the time at around 530. I'm guessing it has to do with the number of returned items being too large (it displays results as you type, so if you type one letter, it tries to start displaying all apps/contacts/notes/email starting with that letter...) I haven't bothered to spend the time putting 3.1.3 on yet as I see no benefit for iPod Touch users at all. Seems most of the bug fixes are for the 3GS (even though it doesn't say that in Apple's readme on the update.) Also - devices before 3GS can only display battery power in accuracy of 5%, that's just the way the hardware is. No biggie - does it really matter if you're at 42% and it displays as 40% or 45%?
