    Dear TAers!

Apple teased us again relasing surprisingly update for our iPhone / iPod touch.
It is coded with numer 3.1.3. and... bring NOTHING new except some minor bug fixes.

    So!
    - no custom menu background
    - no dock icons reflections
    - no folders
    - no contacts shortcuts in the springboard
    - no flash disc function

I am disappointed. 2 hours of downloading software bigger than usually and... nothing new? That is confusing.

    Best,

They purposely do that so people have to spend time releasing a new jailbreak. As usual.

    Yes

My post was mainly sarcasm, because it sure did do something cool. Although, it does patch a bunch of security holes that were present.

Should I just put off updating until 3.2? When I saw it at first thought it was 3.2, kinda disapointing. Oh well

It gives 3Gs users a battery indicator that is actually correct and it fixes a bug where some games didn't open on a 3gs.

Those aren't minor fixes for me.

But why does it give battery indicator to iPod touch users?
Where is the obstacle, it's almost the same device, though.

Rumours say, that next, closer update will be 4.0, to be relased with iPhone and iPod touch 4G in Juni or July.
OS 3.2. is limited to iPad ONLY.

Not "3Gs" as a 3rd generation iPod Touch

    "3Gs" like iPhone 3Gs

The iPhone 3Gs' battery indicator isn't very accurate. This might be due to the the fact that it is the highest tier of hardware for the OS

    4.0 is definitely coming soon.

3.1.2 is just a bandage to fix some troubling bugs in the meantime (while also screwing jailbreakers to try and crack before 4.0)
3.2 is most likely just a stable version of the iPad OS for devs to use the SDK but will not be the final shipping OS

I know. My point is why iPod touch can't indicate battery level in procentage just like 3GS? What is the obstacle for?

Yes. It is default firmware for iPad. As far as I know it will not be available for other iDevices.

I have heard that OS 4.0 is already in tests. It may mean it may come faster than in Juni / July.

It is for iPad? It can't be as iPad already has software 3.2..

Apple's official note says 3.1.3. is dedicated to all iPhones and iPods touch.

I will update if someone can confirm that the extra pages glitch still works. Or if they didn't lose the ones already made.

It is always better to have increased security. But You are not going to experience visible improvements of any kind.

What glitch? I have never heard of one?

In the latest iPhone OS upgrade, we were allowed to have up to 11 viewable pages of apps. But if you look in the image to the right, you will see that there are 12 pages!

So how did I do that? This was a trick I discovered while moving around my icons. First, you have to be an app-aholic and have 11 pages of iPhone apps (and more hidden ones since they can’t be displayed). Then move some of the default apps you do not use like “Weather,” “Stocks,” “YouTube,” “Audio Memo,” etc. to the last page.

Now take one icon from the 10th page and drag it over to the 11th page. This will force the last icon to be booted off the page and into the iPhone abyss!

Now download another app to replace that empty space. And magically, a 12th page will be created with all the apps you weren’t able to view on it. I repeated the same steps and was able to make a 13th page.

This is for a non JB device, correct? If so, do you know how many pages are possible? I am always having to delete something to add something because all 11 pages are full.

It's reported as for being nonjailbreak, check the link. Don't see why a jb would need a glitch as there are mods for this. I have never tried this, I just looked it up when Jerek asked about it. I assume it would increase it as many times as desired. Just repeate the glitch.

Actually I just reread it and seems it only works 5 times, but still, every page you can glitch is another 16 apps. So a good work around for non-jb devices.
