Hmm... Some of the levels have seemingly unintended solutions that involve only three-five of the given tiles when there are a lot more. I'm wondering whether these levels had extra tiles and blank areas as red herrings, or are these solutions actually unintended? Also, there's an inconsistent mechanic; the fully blue tiles. I've checked in level editor and they jump you over two spaces. In the level Rubiks Cube they only jump you one. Is this intended? Other than that, I'm enjoying it quite a bit; though, again some levels are in just for aesthetic effect, and have annoyingly long solution animations to watch through, e.g. Carousel, chicanes. To be perfectly honest, I prefer Huebrix, since the mechanics felt more fleshed out. I understand this is not the final version, perhaps add something to make the levels feel more... Different? At the moment, once you reach the last ten or so levels they feel very similar. I've lost the motivation to finish the last four. The sharing of levels is a nice move that will add more longevity to the game, and a 'socioball' aspect to it! For what it is, it's a nice distraction, but it needs a little something to add more variety.
Firstly, Thanks for your time and for the feedback on the game. The inconsistency you mentioned isn't intentional and we will look into it. About the levels that have red herrings, yes at times they are intentional but very rarely some levels slip through which have unintended solutions we are trying to rectify that. So do notify us if you spot any. About levels that have long solutions, we found that some users enjoyed watching the the ball reacting to the tiles and dancing around the level so we left a few such levels in. Sorry for the delay in response, the forums didn't work for any I.P. from India for the past few days.
One week to release of Socioball! Thanks to everyone here who helped us during the development, gave their feedback and playtested the game. A promo code awaits...
Clean Look and Feel The isometric look and feel is great. Choice of simple colours allows you to focus on the game play it's elegant. It will be interesting to see the adoption of the level editor.
We have tried to make the level editor super simple to use. And once you integrate twitter, sharing and reading levels is a simple single menu click away. Hoping for the best
