But seriously Brazilian is this your way of showing respect? I was nice enough to leave a comment on your blog, simply out of respect. Even though you proved to be a complete and utter jackass, the other day.

I have to agree on the cardiovascular effects, I really enjoy rock climbing, and most climbs involve a considerable walk-in from where you park to the cliff face before you start the actual climbing. And damn, no matter how many times I do it, I still need several rests before I get there. It's why I tried to switch to e-cigs. But no dice. It's probably the side effect I hate the most from smoking

This is like, brand new information to me!

Dude you can't deny a genuine lulz, if it happens it happens. They can come from anywhere, nothing to do with respect.

You made a joke out of something serious, I was trying to contribute to the thread and you decided to go ahead and turn it into a joke. One that isn't funny. Oh and your little OMG joke it's funny either. Don't start shit with me, because right now i'm going through a rough patch in life. And I come here to get away from it. I don't need yours or anyone else's shit. If you want me gone, your close to getting your wish, buddy!

Looks like someone has had an enormous stick up their ass lately.

  12. That's probably true -- but I imagine each "session" you smoke is shorter than an actual smoke, so it's possible it evens out. That's probably the more difficult issue though -- when to "finish." You finish a normal smoke when it's done. E-cigs aren't done, not in the manner of a regular smoke. They run out, but after about the equivalent of a pack, so your normal cues don't exist.

Still, it's still gotta be a better alternative.

They're not approved for sale here. I'm not sure if that's a legal or health issue specifically; I don't think it precludes one from going to the US to buy them and bringing it back here though, as I don't believe they're actually illegal, just not studied/tested. Seems a bit idiotic if you ask me though; they do the exact same thing (more or less) as the Nicorette inhalers, they're just electronic and deliver the nicotine via water vapour instead of powder which, if nothing else, is probably more efficient and provides a more realistic quasi-smoking experience.

    Perv, why do you care?
I feel, if the smoker is in a large area(field/plaza) they can be at least 3-4 feet away. If there are secluded smoking zones, they should go there. If the area is a small walkway/ choke point I think they should find somewhere else. I'm mostly fine as long as the smoke is not blowing right into my face.

I also agree with you on trying to educate people. Drug/alcohol awareness is mandatory teaching in US schools, even though it's legal. They never talk how it relieves stress, unwinds you, & provides oral stimuli. It's always cancer, poison, tar.

Yes there is the danger of smoking more in a single session than normally, but I was referring to just having more sessions than I normally would, due to the ease of use. I personally find it quite easy to limit myself to 3 drags, but then I am a bit of cheapskate and that's probably a large part of it. But yes, because the normal cues don't exist, it's very tempting to just sit and carry on smoking until the entire cartridge is finished.

It does seem idiotic with the grey area laws prohibiting sale and distribution in Canada. Do they sell e-cigs in stores in the US? (i.e. would it actually be possible to cross the border and purchase, then head home?). I've not seen them for sale at an actual retail store here in the UK yet. Although, I haven't looked for them either.

Agreed on all points, unless absolutely necessary (say it's raining or something), I avoid forcing others to walk through my exhale.

Drug/alcohol awareness teaching is a peeve of mine, better saved for if the discussion comes up I think. I agree with the sentiment of your post though, it's over exaggerated and intended to scare students, nothing more. There is no legitimate education occurring in that element of the syllabus.

    Doing nothing of importance.
    Somewhere
I guess they just want to warn people of the dangers, then let them make their own decisions. Just as long as you know what you're getting into, I guess...

I, myself, will never smoke. I just don't feel like taking the health risks, and I have other outlets of relieving stress. As for people around me smoking, I usually don't have to deal with it, although when they do, it's usually in the open, like on a golf course, etc. I can tolerate the smell, although I much prefer cigar smoke to cigarette smoke (as I'm sure most will agree). It's hard to explain, but I just find cigarette smoke to be disgusting, while on the other hand, I actually enjoy cigar smoke's smell to a degree.

It's because you always hear how good they are in everyday life, but hardly hear the negative side effects, so they try to teach it as much as possible.

The most I've smoked is a few puffs of a delicious vanilla-flavored cigar from Ybor City. It tasted great, the smoke almost killed me.

Have you honestly ever heard anything positive about smoking or drugs from a reliable source, that outweighs, in great volume, the negative information? (alcohol aside as that's a slightly different kettle of fish)
