Shills are everywhere and I even believe the big companies shill review sites like amazon just to influence the sales on their products. 99 percent of them never get caught thanks to internet anonymity.
naa, that's a waste of time. I want everyone to chime in so the mods don't have to scratch their heads over deleting it or not. Honestly, shill reviews in the user reviews section is going to turn this place into a circus.
Actually, reporting a post is very effective. In fact, it's gotten two people banned today. I agree that abusing the user review section of this site is egregious and should be allowed to stand.
I brought it up in one of the groups 'cause I thought it was odd how "Faye" used the same format at Twiddle's reviews. I didn't wanna play the shill card though, wasn't 100% sure... but it does look a bit suspect.
That is indeed pretty egregious. I'm guessing that since Tweedle had two reviews towards the top of the page they assumed that was the accepted format or something? Because seriously, it didn't make sense when *Tweedle* did it, and somebody else copying it is just baffling.
Anyone have any conclusive proof that this is a shill outside of "they have one post"? I think this animosity towards new members or anyone without a high post count that has been rearing its ugly head lately is going to do much more damage to the forums over time than someone posting a review which you might think is questionable.
That's precisely why I didn't report it, there's an air of eeriness to it, but I don't think it's an obvious shill. I wasn't talking about this tweedle or whatever the F you guys are talking about, I'm just talking about the text in the review, you honestly read that garbage and think a human wrote it? Also, we called these people "greenshirts" back in the old days. I know it's stereotyping but I can spot a greenshirt from a mile away. And yes, I spent way too much time on IRC when I was younger.
hehe, wow I haven't seen this in many years but I found a bunch of comics I did back in 2002 for this IRC channel I used to hang out in for PHP coders. We used to have these "shiller" guys coming in all the time and asking stupid questions, saying weird things using weird words, we called them greenshirts. I made a comic, it was fun..
