Assuming it's about a 5 day turnaround (based on a what I saw From another developer), and it was submitted on the 27th, October 2nd is 5 days.
All apps and updates must go through Apple certification before they are released to the public. Updates seem to go through much quicker then the initial launch of a product. My guess is that the update should go out for iOS anytime between Sunday-Tuesday... but that is just an educated guess.
Let me just say thank you for being so up front a present with the community (particularly this crowd, hehe)! Trust me when I say that communication like this goes a long way and speaks well for a developer when they communicate with thier gaming community like you have! Thanks and keep up the great work!
Bool, you sure as hell can be awesome at keeping it classy I agree. I defended HBS because I know they care about their customers. They didn't get into this to become filthy rich, they came to take a property that they loved and believed in and wanted to let us delve into that universe, which they've done. I'll be watching and anxiously awaiting the update. Since my hands are screwed and I can't play my baby, Diablo, I want this by the weekend!
As others have said, thank you for responding to our concerns about the game and update. I went ahead and bought it because of your communication. I think it has a lot of potential. Will be eagerly awaiting the patch and future campaigns.
Glad to be of help! I am glad to hear that some people have decided to buy our game, even before the music patch goes live for iOS! I would also like to say that if you have any further questions about Shadowrun Returns (mobile specific or not) I will do my best to answer them! Also check out our forums here where you can find out more information about Shadowrun Returns and read about future and current updates!
Yeah I've been trying to play this on my ipad mini with ios7. When I get it to work its runs very slow. It eventually just crashes and sends me back to the home screen. It's practically unplayable at this point. Especially since it doesn't let you save. Here's hoping the upcoming patch addresses these issues along with the sound. I'm really enjoying the game as much as I can and I can't wait to play more.
I think with regards to user created content, the devs should consider implementing what was done in Battle Academy - players couldn't create their own scenarios on the iPad version due to the lack of an editor, but could definitely install all scenarios created on the PC version to their iPad. That would make SR so much better! Or at least select from time to time the most popular and best user created campaigns as free DLC. (I think it would be wrong to charge for user created content, even if it would be curated.)
** iPhone comparability test ** Working on iPhone 4S / iPhone 5. Unfortunately you will need a jailbreak to run this on an iPhone as the plst amendment invalidates the itunes install why they didn't port this for iPhone officially I don't know!!
Well I couldn't resist the urge any longer and got this game. Playing it on mini and everything was going great until I was in the bar (can't think of what it's called) talking to the bartender and it crashed to the home screen. Hopefully it was just a fluke but I have been noticing more crashing on all games since I updated to iOS 7. Come on apple lets get this thing figured out so we can get back to our gaming.
I completely agree. This is the best all-new traditional cRPG I've played in a decade. The only area it's weak in (that matters to me, at any rate) is longevity. Having access to PC user created scenarios would solve it for me.
just needed to make a comment too: the funny thing is, that, when you browse tru the installed gamefiles (jb,ifile) you can clearly see that there are folders for user made contend and that all just like in the pcversion! imo its just a matter of time till some of the pc-dlc gets released... ps: sry for my bad english. not native
Can you make sure that all other apps in the background are closed and you have at least 1.7 GB free in memory (counting the space the game is taking up)? I have personally been testing with an iPad mini with iOS7 and I am not able to reproduce these symptoms/crash.
Not only would the text be unbearably small on a screen that size but only the iPhone 5c and 5s just barely have the resolution support Shadowrun needs to run. We would have liked to release for everything but releasing for iPhone would have only caused a badly playing (and often crashing) game and blindness.
I have been closing every single app running in the background but I'll check about the 1.7 GB of memory. Thanks for replying.
Why would it not work on the 5? The resolution is no different, and I personally would love to have this on my iPhone as well.
Jeff, I can't imagine that having free storage memory would make any difference here. Apple forces apps into their own sandbox, and having more "space" shouldn't make a difference in terms of crashing.
Running this on my ipad mini 32gb having no problems at all so far! Accept for the sound bug ofcourse. Was really on the fence with this game after some of the comments glad a dived in!
