Really enjoying my first iPad! It makes my 5S screen feel really tiny after using it. How have I managed without an iPad for all these years?!

For what it's worth Shadowrun Returns is discounted to $3.99 on Google Play [possibly related to a recent update]; I suspect the iOS edition will get a sale soon...

 

Yeah, they just rolled out the save anywhere, anytime update on Android. We should see this update on iOS soon.

 

Dear lord, it's about time. Pre-release PC players were pitching a fit about this; so however checkpoints made it into the actual release seems like a total screw-up.

 

It wasn't a screw up. They hadn't worked out how to do it yet.

 

Be careful if you are playing on an iPad mini. I bought this game at release (I love shadowrun games) and haven't been able to progress due to game stopping bugs. There is not a lot of support to correct these issues either.

Yes, it has been confirmed by the developers here on the forums...

"After we have shipped Dragonfall to PC, Mac and Linux, our top priority will be to bring it to our mobile users. Beyond that, we will hopefully get some time to widen our mobile experience with some choice UGC."

Not really. I'd compare it to the old Shadowrun game on SNES.
At a stretch, Fallout 1 & 2.

 

It's an RPG with turn-based combat. The closest comparison I can think of on iOS would be Baldur's Gate, though Shadowrun is considerably less complex. Or, as the previous poster noted, Fallout 1 and 2 on PC.

Xcom is purely a turn-based strategy game, whereas Shadowrun devotes equal time to narrative and fetch quests. The combat itself doesn't have as many tactical options as Xcom, but it's not trying to.

 

I'm under the impression that it's far more linear than Fallout; though combat may be similar.

Anyway, how does it run on an iPad 2 since this new patch?

Anyone know if it's supposed to say "development build..." At the top of the screen while playing. Wanted to know if that's part of the game. Thanks

 

I don't recall it being there before the update, but I'm not sure it's supposed to be there now considering there's a version number in the lower right corner.
