We are pouring our efforts into Berlin right now, and plan to ship in January. After that we would love to put out "best of UGC" for mobile platforms.

Please tell me that Berlin will be available for iPad too! I got money to burn on the game. ;-)

Best of UGC will be awesome too. It's great to hear that there're plans for more content.

Currently Shadowrun Returns saves with a checkpoint system. A general rule of thumb is when ever you see a loading screen your progress has been saved.

Well, I just lost all my progress in barrens because of ipad memory issues. Maybe you should implement autosave after quest completion.

Same for me: iPad2 with latest iOS7, not jailbroken.
It was doable before, with the occasional crash here and there.
But as the quests get longer, it is now unplayable. I gave up after it crashed 3 times in a row like 15 minutes into the Brotherhood quest.
Waiting for you guys to patch it. And please, before you do anything else (like Berlin), add a "save anywhere anytime" feature.

I humbly disagree. The save system is great, it gives the game a little tension. What should be cleared up asap is the memory issues that gives the crashes. On iPad's without the crashing issue, the save system is perfectly usable.

I agree with the save state need. I don't get many crashes but being able to play for the amount of time I want to be able to wold be great.

wanted to purchase this game but having read the issues encountered with the iPad2, scared me off. Looks like this tablet is quickly becoming a brick with new games these days.

I agree on the tension, really liked the fact that your actions have consequences.
But from my perspective, save anywhere is crucial: I can only play in small chunks most of the time, and losing half an hour because my little one wanted to watch some kiddie movies on Youtube and that kicked the game out of memory: sorry, bad design. This isn't the 80s anymore ;) one additional savestate slot that I can use anytime I want/must would solve that.

    Save System

The save system definitely gives the firefights a much higher tension level, it had the desired effect on my when playing on the PC.

I'm still crossing my fingers for an iPhone version, but I have the PC version to hold me over. Heck, I'll take a Vita version!

At this time we are not planning on releasing a version of Shadowrun Returns for the iPhone. Shadowrun Returns is designed to be a tablet game, and would require lots of redesign work to be able to be playable on screens as small as iPhones. Right now we are working on further bug fix and polish for both mobile and desktop versions of Shadowrun Returns, creating Berlin (new story, and lots of new features), and looking into a new save system. We would also love to be able to create "best of UGC" packs for iOS and Android, but can only happen after we ship Berlin.

Come on, he's just joking. Didn't you see a smile overthere? I had a son too, and yes, when he wants to watch a movie, your game progress without savegames are in danger )
