BTW $0.99 is a great price for boosters assuming they have about as many cards as a real CCG boosters (which it itself assuming sets will have about as many cards as a real CCG set)
I'm all hot and bothered by this, and all my M:TG friends are as well. Since Orions there hasn't been a decent card game on the iPhone, and we got really shortchanged considering how much better the PocketPC version was. Too bad the game was entirely abandoned by Chillingo. Give it decent game mechanics and assychronous multiplayer and forget about your 401k, my booster purchases (and my friends') will be your retirement plan.
Maybe, you should give some of the cards a small line of text, like they do in Magic: The Gathering. Like, in Magic, there was a bandit card with the text "Roads Are for fools. And robbers" or something like that. It kinda add a more RPG feel to the game...
I have a question kyle... Do we play with a deck for example 40 cards till one wins like yu-gi-oh( which i really hope) or we play only with 5cards as most tcg,ccg games on appstore(hope not) ??
Kyle Poole, have you planned to add a little small text on some of the cards to add some more rpg feel to the game? That would be cool. And, is i just monster cards, or is it spells and enchantement cards in the game as well?
Well, Kyle.. I am a long-time MTG player.. I've been waiting for someone to launch a card-based game simular to MTG on here since I first got my idevice.. Do you ever see yourself printing these cards for physical take?? I barely talk myself into paying for MTG:Online cards... This has the potential to be a great success on the idevice's.. I'm looking forward to your release.. When sir?
I'm DYING to see some screens. Kyle, have you ever seen/played Orions: Legend of the Wizards? It's a very decent card game but the developers have pretty much abandoned it The interface works really well.
don't believe him! He's sarcastic! but seriously, I can't wait for this game to come out. I hope its better than Moonga.
Yes, I finished at least one full campaign of Orions. It's similar to the Magic the Gathering game that was released for PC ages ago. Shadow Era will not have all the extra superfluous resource building or taking over empires. It is designed for online play and leaderboards. Maybe think of it like a Mafia Wars type of "RPG" on the iPhone, but instead of instantly finishing a quest or battle, you actually have to do something and win a card game... I have played Moonga.... I mean, I tried to play, ugh...
Yeah, Moonga was disappointing. Even Urban Legends is better, though not by much... Actually, instead of using Orions as a basis for comparison, I would say check out the Marvel card game on PSP. It pulls off a full Magic style card game (based on the VS system) very well on the small screen.
