Try it, you'll like it! Random letters appear at the top of the screen and slowly move down towards the bottom. You have to stop them making it to the bottom by using them to make words. You receive points for the letters used and how many you use, the more exotic the word the greater your rewards. Power ups mix up the game by providing rewards and challenges but you never know which one you will get. There are thirty challenging levels. The early levels use the most common words and the last levels contain words you will probably never heard of (until now). The Search for Earthly Intelligence has begun! Features: - 120,000+ Words - British and American spelling options - Beautifully designed graphics - 7 random PowerUp types - 30 levels and Solar systems to win - Open Feint Achievements and LeaderBoards GamePlay Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWi5wBAk8ds------ What our Beta Testers have been saying ------ -- "…it's really awesome." -- "This game is way more cerebral than Tetris, but much more challenging." -- "….this is a cool game..." -- "…looks simply gorgeous!" "Really not a bad word game at all. You try and make as many words as you can with the letters that are given. The rows of letters drop down from the top of the screen at a constant speed until a letter hits the bottom of the screen. You make words with what letters you can, getting bonuses for making the words that appear at the beginning of the stages, which start off small, like "as" "tea" "cup" and get increasingly longer and more exotic as you move on though the levels. I'm not sure how this all works, but I think you need to get these words in order to level up and move through the Solar System. There's also power-up type blocks that are question marks, these include things like freezing the drop down, slowing it down, and emptying a whole row of letters. The letters are scored kinda like scrabble, getting higher scores for using words with not so usual letters, like Q, Z, and X... each different color has a different score. It is a pretty interesting word game. Right now it has OpenFeint with 33 achievements, but I would love to see GameCenter added, even though it wouldn't hold all 31 of the leaderboards... I haven't really leveled up, so I don't know if the backgrounds change, but having some different environments, or spicing up the backgrounds would be nice, maybe have some stars or meteors fly by behind the letters... I can't really suggest anything that changes the gameplay... I think it's really good just the way it is. It's always nice to see more power-ups though... maybe having a blank tile come down every 15 lines or something... I don't know how hard that would be to implement, but it would be a nice addition... I also think making the blocks/tiles look 3D ish would be awesome, I know there's not a whole lot of room between them, but having some shading and depth to the tiles would just make the game look, and feel, more professional. All-n-all, SEI is a nice word game. Thank you for the code, this is gonna end up staying on my device for quite some time! =oD" sunaitis Active Member Apr 4, 2010 30 0 0 Teacher Trainer Finland #6 sunaitis, Sep 3, 2011 I got my code a while ago, but never had time to test it. Now I finally bought the game (you can give my code to somebody else). Here are some thoughts: I played on iPad, didn't risk the smaller screen with my old eyes . I like the idea of having a theme to this game, not just letters dropping. I'm so far a proud owner of two stars, and I like the side product of learning some facts about them. As I'm not an experienced gamer, before this one I have only tried Wooden Labyrinth 3D and Tiny Wings, I really appreciate the intuitiveness and ease of the controls. The pace of the first levels is also suitable for me. My real challenge is that I'm not a native speaker, and tend to make some spelling errors, but that's my problem, not the game's fault! I'm now on the five letter words, and it's already getting pretty hard for me, I can just imagine, how much challenge this would offer on level 30! For anyone really into word games, you'll definitely get your moneys worth of puzzle hours with this one! When playing SEI I realized that my short time memory really isn't what it should be! At the beginning of the game there are always three power words showing, and I noticed that I keep forgetting them the moment the letters start to fall. Instead of trying to hunt for those words I grab which ever word I can. Seems to work fine that way too. SEI is a game of skill, but it also has the element of surprise: you can never tell what happens, when you click a tile with a question mark. My favorite is the spaceship that slowly crosses the screen blocking letters as it covers them. Is there anything I'd wish? Quite often I touch a wrong alphabet (clumsy fingers touch the one next to the aimed one). In those cases I'd love if I could remove just one letter by touching it anew in the word in process. What happens now is that all letters are taken up to their original position in the letter cloud, and I have to pick them down once more. Quite annoying if the accidental letter is the last one in a ten letter word! That might be a difficult wish to fulfill though. All in all: nice and polished word game with a lot of thought behind it. I'll probably never make it past the three-four first levels, but for a more experienced word gamer with a larger vocabulary than I have, SEI can offer hours of fun. best wishes Sun aitis Clockworkapps Well-Known Member Dec 22, 2009 106 0 0 Melbourne http://www.clockworkapps.com #7 Clockworkapps, Sep 5, 2011 Hi Multiple players, an undo key and more are planned for the next version.
