As the article states, it's currently a rumour, but I'd be so pumped for some Dreamcast ports (they had some killer, and unfortunately overlooked, games). Though the point about charging for PS2 game downloads sounds like a bad idea, and hopefully thats all it is:

Downloadable DC games would be sweet for those who lost their DC or never had one. As far as more downloadable PS2 titles why not. Sure it feels pretty shameless as they first started off saying how important backward compatibility is and then said oh wait nevermind, but still money is money and if the people will pay then no harm done. No ones mad about the virtual console Nintendo has with the Wii or the Wii-makes for that matter or the xbox originals on Live. It's all business and money is the goal

LOL no XBLA, just PSN! Microsoft is losing it's audience to Apple and Sony. Well that's just :p for them

They did release Soul Calibur and Rez, which were Dreamcast titles, so it is not too surprising.
I miss Sega in the console wars, they were always so inventive. I would love to see an Atari-esque Dreamcast all-in-one system, just plug it in and play, lets say 50 of the Dreamcast greatest hits. I'd pay good money for that.

Apple and Sony? Really? Apple's in another market, and Sony's PS3 is kinda nosediving. Nintendo's kicking Microsoft's ass, sure, but that's about it.

Overall, not just in gaming. Nintendo is just aiming at people who don't wanna play games at the amount I seem to do.

Giving Sony such an "option" means that SEGA is looking to get "under the table" money from this deal.

And the thought that Sony reps are considering DC emulation a "killer app" for PSN is actually making me LMAO. These are the same reps who stated that DC wasn't worth owning when their PS2 was on the horizon, and now they want the DC collection.

    Wow.

Watch the Sony fanboys try to spin this in such a way that they don't look full of contradictions.

If you don't like adventure games, you probably won't like Shenmue (and Shenmue II).

By adventure games I mean stuff like the old LucasArts adventures (Monkey Island) or modern day stuff like Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit. Actually...if you like Dexter: The Game on iPhone/touch, I think you'll really enjoy Shenmue. If, however, you find such games "boring", then steer clear.

I doubt they'd bring shenmue, at least in america cuz the audience wouldn't be that large, but dude if they bring Jet grind radio with updated graphics that would be effing amazing

Ironically, Shenmue sold best in the US.

Frankly, most Sega games have always sold best in the US, the exceptions being Virtua Fighter and Yakuza. The games sold best in the US in terms of numbers, and in terms of market percentage Europe was Sega all the way.

That's how Sega fudged up after Genesis/MegaDrive. Sega Japan started concentrating solely on the JP market and it was just misstep after misstep for the US/NA and EU/PAL markets up until Dreamcast, and by then...it was too late. :(

My Dreamcast still works, after 10 years. It hasn't lost its charm either :p

A lot of my discs were scratched though, so I'd quite like to get them back through PSN.
