    Hi sink_or_swim :

There are gems that can be used to revive if you die during a run. Gems can be obtained one of 4 ways :

    1. They have a 5% chance to spawn on the path

    2. They have a chance to drop through treasure chests (treasure chests are scattered throughout the worlds and carry large amounts of gold or gems)

    3. You have an ability once you reach max level to summon gems of revival.

    4. You can buy them in the store (not necessary but the option is there).

So if you have enough gems, you can revive where you died. Thanks for the question.

Thanks for the answer but my question was how many times can I revive?

By the sounds of it if you have 50 gems of revival you can revive 50 times.

yup you got it. However many gems you have determines how many times you can revive.

That means pay2win. It would be much better if it was limited to 2 revives per run so everyone has the same chance.
Could you at least add a seperate leaderboard for best score with no revives?

    pay to win

Already ahead of you on that one guys. There are 3 leaderboards on Game Center: Total Score - with revive, Total Score - No Revive, and Total Kills

If interested I could add a 4th leaderboard (Total Score w/ 2 revive?)

Wouldn't take me long to implement.

    Thoughts?

Revives kills skill and leaves wallets as kings, removing all the fun.

I wouldn't bother with leaderboard for 1 or 2 revives just revives and no revives and you'd think that'd make people happy? I couldn't care less about leaderboards on 99% of games so I'm not the best to ask.

Agreed. You can't please everyone no matter what you do. If I only included 1 life I guarantee you that an insane amount of people would complain about this because in a game like Temple Run people expect to be able to revive. If that feature is taken away they automatically hate you for it, or will complain and request that you put that feature in.

On the other hand, I agree with what you guys say regarding the fact that gems allow those with large wallets to win. But that's why I created 2 score leaderboards from the get-go. I have one w/ no revive to test "true skill" as you might say. And then one w/ gems for reviving.

You can think of it like a game of bowling. The truly skilled way to play would be to use no bumper lanes. However, a lot of kids or some people are just not very skilled and would prefer to use the bumper lanes as it makes the game fun for them. I know this might sound stupid, but it's true, and you also have to consider a lot of players are going to be kids that expect the game to be fun and easy.

My goal was to create a great game and do my best to support every play style in mind, while also offering players a fair playing field (for those that are into the competition of leaderboards and such). I think adding the 2 leaderboards does this.

I don't know how people could bitch and complain on here to you stingman. It's awesome to know that our thoughts and ideas actually matter to you.

The whole leaderboard/revive situation; you did a great job thinking about everyone whether they are good or bad at the game.

No offence to Frost but he doesn't seem to like most things or is just very negative in threads. But yes you can't please everyone someone will always want things different.

No, I do like a lot of stuff, but I don't like competing with wallets/schemes. Sometimes I may come too strong but I don't mean anything bad, just say stuff from the bottom of my heart. No bad intentions.

Also, I didn't say that for this game, just for all games. I pretty much hate cooked spinach's, complete tomatoes and gems and revives. I think that's it! :p

Edit: Did you check my comment on the Bardbarian thread? Or what I said about Castle Doombad in m review, or what I just said on the Super Obstacle Boy, or what I said on the Magnetized thread.... its not all bad...

I have seen some yes and you started off skeptical in Doombad which is what made me think it is all.

I don't like games here people can pay to win either but I never buy IAP like that anyway but I'm not the best to ask because I never check GC or leaderboards I just play games for myself. Unless it's online of course!

    New Video Coming

I've taken a lot of your feedback into account and have updated several parts of the game. I'm going to create another short video this weekend and I'll post it up Monday. As far as the last phase of beta testing goes I'll have more info on that next week as well, but things are coming along great and I can't wait to show more of the game.
