I am soooooo happy to hear that it will support 2G ipods. I only experienced lag with the beta version on occasion, and it didn't really bug me that much. The latest version though was quite smooth and there really wasn't that much lag. I was quite bummed when you said it wouldn't support older devices, cuz this was one of my most anticipated games. Great to hear it's headed to the store, and you did a wonderful job on the game. I was honored to be in the beta test!
Yea, I understand what you mean, being a dual stick shooter, if you include multiplayer, then it is already unique. One unique mode that I thought of is you make a straight vertical map, just vertical. And there are random blockades around to use as cover and there would be waves of robots moving down the map while you're moving up. The blockades would have a certain amount of hits that it can take, so players must try and protect it as well, so they can shoot/throw grenades. The mission is to get to the top of the map or you can make it endless so people have to try and get as high as possible (for online leaderboards). As players move higher in the map, the blockades will take less and less hits or something like that. Another mode is sort of like Hero Defense on StarCraft. There may be another name for it on StarCraft, but that's how I remember it Basically a player would have to guard an area with 2 'doors'. Robots will spawn from these doors and you have to try and kill them before they leave their area. If a robot leaves the area, it will travel into a teammate's area and the teammate must kill the robot. If the robot makes it through the teammate's door, then the game is over.
Payload and Control Points would be great, you know, from TF2? Well, the maps would have to be smaller, but it would still be an awesome experience!
This game looks great. I will definitely be purchasing it. I haven't really followed this thread but the game seems very polished and quite fun.
I haven't really been following this thread. But the game seems like it has a lot of potential. Hopefully the multiplayer/retina updates come soon after the initial release.
