I don't think he's sent out any emails yet but then again that can mean something else (for me atleast)
@developer, how about some checkpoints during the levels? It's a bit frustrating to restart the whole level when you died... Oh, and I would like a map you can see the places you where already on, too
nah, im just a previewer (i'm actually a guy from the future. sorry khamous. you didnt make it in. Neither did anyone else except K76. but that's cus K76 got dr doofenschmirz to give them a getmeinawesomebetatestinator)
Likely the developer will post here and let everyone know when the emails are sent out. From what I gather (IMO) only a few are going to be beta testing, say 5-6 people. In due time we will all know.... patiences will do everyone some good.
5-6 people?!?! thats crazy...usually a small number of testers = 15-20. but 5-6 would barely cover all devices/firmwares and skill levels
+1. And also i'm pretty sure Nigel said they would do rounds of some sort...and let everyone test. Covering everyone. (All skill levels and devices. And jailbroken or not.)
VERY smart dev i see! but as much as i'd like this, it'd be cool if he didnt. I'd rather have a select 80 test and report, then 1,000
What was said was testing will be done in waves, so different people can get a taste and it wont become stagnate. So, you believe that the number of people that applied for the beta is near or around 300? I ask this because if the developer is truly testing in waves, it would make sense to have a low number of testers if you were to do wave testing. Otherwise, you would run out of new testers. I was just stating what I gathered from earlier in the topic. It does make sense to test a larger group, like you said, for a wide range of devices and firmwares.
but it takes like 8 months for them to clear the UDID's does it not? im all with this, but wouldn't it be easier to somehow make it for everyone....IdK how, but it'd be easier if this 'wave' testing is true
I need more help guys. Hopefully Kris picks the testers soon, because me giving feedback and finding bugs solo is kind of difficult. As for the wave testing, I'm guessing Kris will get around five to eight of you guys, with a total of five to seven waves. So that's around twenty to fifty testers. No more than that though. So if around 300 people applied, at most one-sixth of you guys would get in. At the very least, about one-twelfth of you guys would get in. Just estimating the odds here. Regarding UDIDs, I believe a developer only gets a total of 100 UDIDs that he or she can put in per YEAR. Even if, for example, Kris adds five UDIDs and later deletes one, it still counts as five UDID spots that he's used. And this is per year - if he wants to beta test another game this year (which he might) he'll need extra spots free to he can get a fresh wave of new testers. Hope this feedback helped, and I also hope Kris picks some of you soon! I've found a couple of bugs, but I think I may have missed some so the more, the merrier!
Glad I am not the only one who thinks only a small number a tester will be chosen. From what was said earlier in the topic about wave testing, I thought this from the start. As for UDID, you are correct. Though, a developer can release a version to iTunes (not making it live of course) and give out promo codes for that version. Then test this way also. Though, they will be limited to the amount of codes.
Yeah, but releasing it to iTunes and sending out codes is pretty annoying... it's much more time-consuming, and hence, we have beta testers.
