I like what Pixelbite have done here: they listened to damn near every single complaint about the original game, and developed a game to adress them all Has there been any word on online multiplayer as a future addition? It would be a shame to finally have the game RR1 should have been in our hands, but without the best feature of the original. (If multiplayer is implemented, I hope they make it more than just random matches without persistence or context. Either tie it to the single player campaign (use the same cars and earn cash), or go the Death Rally route (without the IAP limitations): have it take place in an additional multiplayer campaign, where we get to unlock, buy and earn everything once over. For true multiplayer euphoria, throw in integrated tournaments, leagues, ladders and rankings, and turn RR2 into a true e-sport for iOS. SFIV Volt seems to indicate there is indeed plenty of room for competitive online playing on this platform...)
I'm so pumped for this game. I hope it's around the 2.99 area. Either way I'm buying it the second it's on the app store. Is it Wednesday night yet?
Reckless is about 170mb heavy and requires iOS 4. There's optional IAP's, but nothing is tied to it. You get the full game without paying anything extra. Reckless 2 ships with Multiplayer, but it's similar to the first game. We do however have some plans for the future, and your ideas about tournaments sounds nice.
So no steering wheel option huh? I may have to pass based on this alone. I think MMR and Death Rally have shown that steering wheel/stick controls work better for these type of games than arrows. Shame really as I was so looking forward to this. If I am wrong and there is option for steering wheel in there, would dev or anyone kindly let me know. Thanks
We have two steering wheel options actually, one that works like a real wheel, and one that's more of a slider left/right. And keep in mind that this video is from an unfinished Android version.
Wow I lost some hype after watching that video. Maybe because the guy playing is terrible. It just doesn't look that good... I didn't see any drifting or anything that made the first one so fun.
No idea how I overlooked the feature, but I am glad it's already in there How does it function currently? Does it, in any way, tie in to single player? (Can we use all cars in multiplayer, or do we have to purchase/unlock them in single player first? Do upgrades to cars carry over to multiplayer? Does multiplayer earn us cash?) RR2 feels kinda like the other RR2 (in spit and polish, improvements over the first, etc), but for top-down racers I seriously believe that with an integrated tournament system, it might become one of tbhe more popular e-sports for iOS (of which there are more than the unsuspecting console and desktop world would believe ).
Reckless Racing was one of the first games I got on my iPod and remains one of my favorites out of all my 72 apps. I can't freaking wait for this.
Hmm, I saw tons of potential drifting opportunities. And, yes, the guy playing sucked balls. I actually stopped watching for that reason. Some people should not do Lets Play videos. And that guy exemplifies that statement.
Lol. Yeah I agree. I'm buying it regardless day one, I'm just hoping it's as awesome as the first one was when it first came out.
