Is it still going to be mainly an offroad game? (I really hope so). The cars look great, but they do look more like "street" cars than the first game.
Guns are not so important in this game i think. The most important thing is physics and graphics, great cars and race tracks. This is what makes great gameplay.
2nd gen? Is this app going to support 2nd gen iPods? It really sucks because apps like Mini Motor Racing and Death Rally are incompatible with 2nd gen iPods. I hope this app will work on my iPod! So, does it work on 2nd gen iPods? Or does it need those stinking Open GLES 2.0 graphics.
2nd gen iPod's will currently not run the game, partly due to heavy use of those "stinking" shaders. But if there's demand for it, a version without shaders might be possible. Not easy, but possible. I had a quick look at the polygon counts for the tracks, and RR2 have almost 10 times more polygons for each track compared to the original, which also will be troublesome for older devices.
I'm not saying that the 'shaders' or whatever they are (i am no game designer), are bad, I am just disappointed that most new games graphically heavy have to implement it/them and then I can't play the game. Because, Reckless Racing is probably my favorite game and I really would want to play it on my iPod. Thanks for answering! This looks like it will be the best game ever!
Its just one of these things with new and better devices coming out every year. There's even a noticeable difference in heavy graphical games between my dad's 4S and my iPhone 4. People need to stop counting on devs to support devices are quite outdated now. Games shouldn't be lowered in quality because some people still have a old generation device. Upgrade and move along or dont upgrade, but know that the gap is just getting farther apart.
You are El-Righto! But it would not hurt to release a lower quality graphics version of the same game. P.S I was not "counting" on the dev, I was just asking if it would work on my outdated iPod
I only have the free version of the original (been waiting for it to go free) and I can honestly say this is one of the most fun racing games I've ever played. The controls are so tight and the drifts are spot on. Can't wait for #2 (and I guess I should just buy the original while I'm at it).
@SumoSplash Buy the 2nd one, the 1st one has more chances of going free, Edge & a few other 1st versions went free very recently.
