I'll be buying this but I don't think I'll play racing games in public... lol I'll look like a crazy person shaking and tilting around with my iPad. Someone will think I'm having a seizure...
It may just be the scaled down images, but I think the iPad has some form of aliasing. If it does, that brings the graphics level up lots.
You're looking at 4" screenshots. If you saw the 2 running side by side on each device, you'd clearly see a difference. Much smoother resolution. In the other comparison of images, the upgrade in graphics is definitely seen in the trees and all the lines and markers along the track. I'm so in.
For what I can tell the iPad version has some sharper textures and of course a better resolution, no 3D alloys or transparent windows?
Tnx Salsamd. I liked that. Real Racing HD will be sick on this device. Good thing I have 3 pairs of ear buds already but Apple failed not to provide a set. Also surprised to see the speaker vents bunched up and not spread out left/right for pseudo stereo. hmm, Pseudo Stereo. Not a bad band name.
They have to be bunched together because there is only one speaker. The vent being that large would make it much easier for something to break your speaker so the case has those metal bars over the mesh to make it harder to damage.
More shots and skins link Thanks for posting some of the new shots Game Reaper. The previous screen shots that were floating around were from an older version. We have made improvements since then. I would love to be able to edit the Internet and show the new ones everywhere. ;-) Here are a couple more. Including a new one showing car skins. Besides making your own car skins, or simply applying a photo, we have a website that you can link to from the game that can offers some additional skins ready to apply. We have some examples up there to get people started. For those interested in taking a look: http://realracing.cloudcell.com/moreskins.php Cheers, Rob
I've played the iPhone version for many hours and can instantly see the greatly improved exterior and interior car models. Question for Firemint (or anyone) - will the iPad version use the iPhone versions time trial leaderboard etc? thanks.
Leaderboards are shared Thanks David, we did put a lot of work into the car models, both interior and exterior. We also put in a lot of work on the tracks also, you can see the difference in the road smoothness between the recent shots and those that were going around earlier. Yes, the leaderboards are shared, and you can play multiplayer between iPhone, iPod and iPad. However, iPad also has ghost racing, which make the time trials and league racing really compelling. in Time trial you can load a ghost from the leaderboard and race against it. In league play you can see up to 5 ghosts from your division on the track racing with you, depending on how many people have logged a time in that race. Rob
