Read Hodapp's preview - he says that when you turn down the AI settings or adjust the control, the game is easier. As long as you know the basics of racing strategy (i.e. slow in fast out, racing lines and braking points) you'll do ok. Personally, I'm looking forward to a racing game for my iPod that is actually challenging. The cars all look different. The 3 available classes vary in performance, not the cars in each class. The reason is to focus on racing; not having a better car. Some of the best championships in the GT series are the ones with limited car entry i.e. just Aston Martin DB9's as it is much more satisfying to beat opponents in the same or a lesser car!
Very true. The very reason I love the early parts of playing through the Gran Turismo or Forza series on the consoles. It's much more satisfying when all the cars are pretty much stock except for minor bolt-ons and it really is about how you drive your car.
will.hope the ai better...you know the other racing games have a bad ai system.just like NFS most wanted on pc plantform...so AI is very important to us.just like racing with real person,so it is called real racing!!! still waiting for the date!
is the game coming out currently? there was a post earlier about it had released in australia as it cycles thru the time zones today but that post dissapeared...was reading on the iphone so didnt get a chance to go thru it fully
dang...that is lame...i was at chucky cheese with my kids dying a loud painful death in misery when i saw that post too. was the only thing that kept me going knowing i would soon be playing that bad boy tonight hehe... oh well, i wonder if apple is conviently holding back the launch on this one for thier little conference next week...
I saw that today when after I got back in the office today, I just about threw-up my tuna sandwich with excitement to release it was a joke.
If you've been following any other big games them you'd know that apple takes 7-12 days on big games. Some take even longer than that eg. beatrider
Patience is a virtue, there's no point checking in and out after every hour. Trust me, when it's out, you'll know by the "REAL RACING IS OUT!!" thread back in the new releases section of the board.
Well, I'd expect it to hit this week sometime, although a lot of developers have been saying it's taking a long time to get approved lately. I'm hoping for something like Wednesday.
Not yet announced. But if you search "price" in this thread we have guesses that go from 5 to 10 bucks.
Please exercise restraint Yes, and no doubt followed by a billion "posts" saying anything along the following: "ZOMG!!!" "It's not out in xyz country yet!!!!" "Yes it is" "No it isn't" "Just wait... not yet propagated yet" "Downloading" "Anyone wanna TOFTT?" "Anyone know when it'll drop in price?" "Waiting for the Albie Meter" (No offense Big Albie... you're highly respected for your great reviews and deep insight into the gameplay!) I can understand everyone feeling great anticipation in getting this ASAP... I'm one of the many who also check appsniper twice a day! But I don't want to wake up one day and have to scour through 5 pages before I see anyone give a decent first impression or review. Rest assured that someone somewhere will review the game and let everyone know. Especially big games where someone from the TA team will undoubtedly get it. So please, for everyone's sake when the official "Real Racing is OUT" thread, lets have some restraint and let forum members enjoy a great thread about a great game, highlighting the game's strengths/weaknesses and discuss the game itself, rather than spam it with irrelevant info. Thanks all!
is this game made by the same team/people who made Flight Control, or is it just the same developer releasing the game?
I just threw up in my mouth... J/K But you did ask the same question twice in one question. But to answer your question: Yes!
