How would I go around becoming a beta tester for games? Do I just browse around this forum looking for dev's looking for testers? Or what?

Pretty much. Chill around the Upcoming Games section. They pop up pretty often. As long as you've already taken the still-beating heart of a virgin, German princess.

You could make a thread about how you're beta testing... FOR FREE.

You might want to get your post count up too. But I'm not suggesting you go spamming though.

I would suggest adding your interest in beta testing within you sig as well.
Uh.....your new. (as far as posting, that is) Maybe I should explain in case your not aware.
Your signature is something you can add to to be seen by all at the bottom part of your posts. You'll notice others have them.
    Welcome to TA btw.

  8. You might also want to have some past experience effectively beta testing other stuff. Although not all developers require previous experience, the primary goal of beta testing is to be able to flush out bugs and identify other problems, and experience in both identifying problems, and more importantly being able to reproduce the same problems and be able to trace the steps you took to trigger them, is extremely helpful to developers.

Remember: Beta testing is not playtesting; you're generally expected to earn your keep. Too many people consider beta testing as just a way to get pre-release games and earn some geek cred on the boards by adding their beta list to their sig. I'm sure some devs might not mind that if it helps generate hype (presuming you aren't under NDA during the beta phase) but that's not what they primarily brought you into the beta fold for.

Or you could give valueable feedback in threads and be invited to private betas that make you feel fuzzy inside.
