Well i'm making great progress on skirmish, i think i finished coding the AI modes. Now i need to modify the mission maps to also support skirmish and then the dreaded UI coding and i should be done. So the next update might be submitted right after the game goes live
Nah i don't think apple works on weekends, unless they got some slave workers in sweatshops around the world. My best guess would be wednesday.
I agree playing skirmish where the whole tech tree is unlocked can spoil the game. But in the end it's up to the players to decide how they want to play it. Besides the game is pretty long so asking for the player to finish it is a little too much. So you'll unlock skirmish missions as you play through the campaign.
