Next update will make it more obvious what the pure idols are, they will be highlighted in the list. Also, they all have names now, not just numbers.
Sweeeeet, I can get behind that. You guys are awesome! By the way, a thought occurred to me about IAP: You mentioned that things aren't going so well, but it seems to me like you don't need that much currency early on in the game. I've noticed temptation seep in by the 20-hour mark, when I'm mostly grinding out coins for the hat re-rolls while grinding Bnomey quests. There is yet hope that the IAP will pick up once people are getting into the more expensive money sinks, right?
Would it be busted to force everyone to pay a dollar after the first two hours? I wouldn't mind. You could do it in an update. After the update everyone has to pay. Don't know if there is a way to force an update. Anyway I'm sure this would generate much rage Oh well.
Pretty sure that would be against Apple's ToS. Though they could add a wall after level 20 with only 'Wall cracker' ability that can bust through it. For 0.99
My only issue with this idea is this: what about us who have already thrown money at the developer to show our support? They could go the route of Dark Meadow and reward those who have already paid in at the very least if that is the direction they go, while making everyone else who hasn't made an IAP pay to progress past a certain point or wall. I am not one who is against paying; I did so with this game because I believed it deserved it and for the record I am one of those who NEVER buys IAP currency for a game on principle, but I felt this game was so good it deserved several dollars to show my appreciation of the design and quality. I'd sooner delete a game then deal with an artificial paywall (Contract Killer 2 is the recent offender that comes to mind in that respect; a great game that I will never play because of the mechanism that force IAP with no other recourse). So to amend my statement, I don't mind paying, but I'd prefer it be on my terms, as I am sure most consumers would agree. Forcing everyone to pay, particularly those who showed their support, seems a bad route to go PR wise. Gamers are a slightly unstable, volatile fickle bunch of addicts when the mob mentality kicks in... If you mess with their drug you got to do so in a way that it doesn't backfire. It is a delicate balance...
re: AIR BLOCK... I am betting that your power level is dropping below POWII and thus the air block doesn't trigger. But, I think I will change this so that it will always trigger (like RAGEVENGE does for POWI). Just having it be a POWII SKILL slot item should be enough.
You could charge 1.99 And give them 20,000 free coins. Anyone who has already purchased IAP would not be required. Also, it may have been better to offer a $.99 IAP. Offering a game for free and then the cheapest IAP is two dollars makes people less likely to buy. What about adds? Pay to remove.
Discocut Invincible uppercut move is broken. It says you're invincible and yet if you try to uppercut the blue sparkling squid guy, you still get hit. Pretty much the only reason I wanted this move in the first place. Is this a glitch or supposed to be?
Yeah, Discocut is vulnerable to the electric squid. I did that on purpose, but think I might change it to be more like the SHIELD BUSTER in that regard. The TORNADO FIST uppercut is invulnerable to the electric skullsquid.
With the IAPs not doing so well, I don't know what you have coming down the pike, but if there was say, a different world that was only obtainable via IAPs, I think it would sell like gangbusters based on the addictive quality of the game. More people will want more content. Currency-based games are tricky since you don't want to piss people off with not giving enough and making them think the dev is "greedy" to force IAPs to really do well at a game. But giving too much or even just the right amount, yeah, unfortunately, the IAPs become moot. Honestly, I really, really hate the whole IAP system with a few exceptions like new content or full-game unlocks. Wish this game had sold at least $.99. I think it would have still done extremely well in downloads and the IAPs would be less of an issue.
Another simple IAP idea that should be easy to implement -- $0.99 "tip jar" tier. No punchos, maybe even no special hat unlocks, just here's a buck for the awesome game.
another bug i found.. when you receive a call or accidentally trigger siri, the sound cuts off completely and the only way to fix this is to kill the app, then relaunch it
I hate these types of games, except when the IAP prove to be completely unnecessary. Like this. Or Jetpack Joyride. But I did buy the coin doubler in JPJR, because it's a great game and that still let me play the game. I guess this game wasn't planned ahead of time for a coin doubler, which is too bad, because I'd definitely buy that. What about a 25% bonus machine or something of that sort? Not double, but you're still getting something tangible for your IAP.
