I have pretty much the same numbers, and I also have no pure idols. If they're weighted the same as the others, there's about a 2% chance that after finding 1000 total idols, neither of us found a single pure idol, even allowing for duplicates. Perhaps there's some sort of secret method for finding them? Maybe they only appear under certain conditions, or are only carried by imps or something? I really have no idea. Considering that there's an achievement for finding them all, having them be purely random seems like a cruel joke.
I counted and I have 72. Not a single duplicate (by that I mean different color/category). And I doubt it. Coz I've missed a lot more statues than the two my overall stats are saying. I've missed at least a dozen, maybe more. And I wouldn't know if GC has reset my score. I don't actually check the scores or how I'm doing in the leaderboards. I'm in like the 3000th position I think, haha. I'm a loot hoarder instead. xD
So, this thread is super helpful and all, but someone needs to make a Wiki page or something for this game. I keep seeing the same questions asked over and over and a lot of new people seem super confused about what's going on. Looks like one was started here but doesn't have much added at the moment. I'm thinking something more along the lines of the excellent Pocket Planes wiki. Anyone want to jump in?
Still playing the game a lot, clocking 9 hours playtime. Anyway, is there a GC bug? My score was knocked back to my first record of 50k plus. And, I didn't get that first Ultra Hat achievement. Another bug I encountered is completing a quest but it never registers until the 2nd playthrough. I hate those red wraiths, any particular strategy for that?
There is a GC bug, but it's affecting more games than just this. Apparently DoDonPachi Maximum has it too, as well as others. Red wraiths - jump, dash, slam. Works like a charm.
Thanks, I really hate those green gloves lol. That GC bug is annoying particularly with challenges, but the game is too good that I can't be bothered.
I originally made the wiki for mage gauntlet, google it if you want to see how it turned out. I'll make this one if anyone wants.
OK... phew, step out for an hour to watch Dexter, and 3 pages later in the forums, heh... So yeah, idols. It will always generate an idol that you haven't already found. The list can't even display "duplicates" or anything, it doesn't work like that. The idol bug won't have been fixed in this last update because I didn't even know about it then, and that update was submitted before PQ was even approved. But I'm aware of it now. It's just something to do with the counting being off since there are the 4 coloured idols... will look at it tomorrow. G'night guys, I'll be back at it in the morn.
Loving the following skill combination for a laugh: Big Dash + El Reflecto + Hyper Fighting = WHEEEEE With the speed of the current update, this is Wip3out speed punching!
Here's a thing, maybe... I was given an ultra hat immediately after the update. I hadn't reached lvl 100 yet but was well past 50. Since then, I leveled up again, this time to 60, and received another ultra hat. I was looking in the achievements and noticed the 'Ultra Hat' one was still uh...unachieved. Wondering if this is maybe because I was technically given the first one, because I got it kind of unusually. Figured getting a second one would clear it up, but it didn't. No big deal...thougt you might like to know.
I think that's just a bug, neither myself nor a few other people that have spoken about it in the thread have the achievement yet.
Just saw the kotaku article. That bites! Just bought some punches to support fellow devs, especially with a great game that I've enjoyed mashing.
I find it hard to use too, actually. For the quest, I just use it while trying to land on a wraith's glowy hands. Works pretty well for me. Not sure if the achievement bugs are actual bugs, or just Game Center being really wonky.
Here is a pic of my guy: I have found 72 idols so far. No pure ones. Maybe Kepa/Madgarden can post a pic of a Pure Idol so we'll know what they look like? Or perhaps we'll know it when we see it... I've logged 5 1/2 hours of playtime. Maybe their appearance is based on time? Would be interested to know the factors for their appearance. I can't quite tell but can you uppercut through fireballs, i.e. Street Fighter Alpha? I have been trying to test this. I think you can. Or else it is pretty close. Thoughts? My top score is 130,390. I've considered making a FAQ but have been super busy at work. Let me know how I can help.
He looks like an orc. Myself and Woohoo have about 500 idols each and no pure ones between us either. I have 26 hours playtime now, so that's not it. Still wonder about the weightings though, it would really suck to luck out and get them as the last few ones after you get the 4000 others, hehe. You can't uppercut through fireballs, unless you have the skill that lets you punch through ranged attacks (or whatever it says, I didn't even bother unlocking it)
I got myself a special hat, a Rampage Skullcap of Glowing, however, I didn't unlock the "Ultra Hat" achievement. So if this isnt an ultra hat, what is?
