I seem to have encountered a GNOME PARTY. It was... unexpected, but at least I know what the "gnomes punched" stat is for now. I still don't know what a "pure idol" is though.
I was up until 5 in the freaking morning thanks to this game. SERIOUSLY!?!? Game. Of. The. Year. No doubt. This makes Jetpack Joyride look completely lame (and yes, I love that game). The progression is insane, deep, and I've never had so much fun going crazy. I love it. I am BLOWN away by this. Please add a permanent doubler or something in game. And a 99 cent option for the punchos. Please, just give us every option to GIVE YOU OUR MONEY
I need some help... I'm struggling to destroy 15 torches, can't find red wraiths, and what are Spoiler master foes??
I think the thing that makes me like this game so much is what a natural progression it is from other great games like Jetpack Joyride. The shift from avoidance based play to momentum-by-punching makes for a different sort of challenge even though the basic structure of gameplay is familiar. That and it's just well executed and fun. Not sure on master foes yet (I think they're the hardest forms of regular enemies, like the orcs with spiked shields), but to destroy torches I had a run where I did uppercut/powerslam combo (uppercut button again while in midair). It takes really exact timing, but it's doable. Red Wraiths are the annoying guys with the glowing hands that don't shoot fireballs but hurt you a lot, uppercutting them sucks.
I actually realized that the combo counter is used for the challenges, I was thinking you had to hit 50 enemies without being hit (which is why I suggested the hit streak). Completely ignore that idea. :/ Anyways, congrats on the great reviews guys, you deserve them.
You do bring up a question for me, however, and that is does a successfully blocked hit still count as an combo ender?
"Store unavailable. Check your connection and account settings" I would love to throw few bucks for devs but keep getting this error for ingame store.
Does any other game's store work for you? Agent: You fill up your energy meter at the bottom by taking damage or punching things. It will trigger a supermove. You lose energy by blocking. Also, getting hit during a block will end your combo.
It's what was said earlier about enemies. You usually have to reach at least level 10 to fight master foes. They are the blue bats, red wraiths that shoot out balls of energy, flaming spear skeletons, squids that strike lightning, blue orcs with a spiked shield...and that's all I can remember. For the torches, I recommend exploding fist super, and the power that bring you down quickly when slamming as power 1. You need to time it right to uppercut and immediately slam down for two hits to break the torch. Sometimes, you'll be able to score a quick hit if you miss the first uppercut with the first power. With the exploding fist, you can one-hit them.
Yeah, unlike an ipad, on an iphone the orientation lock only keeps the screen in portrait mode. At least on ios. There is no lock switch, you activate it via the dock.
The STEAMBUSTER really is the easiest way to knock the torches off... it makes your uppercut stronger, and so just one uppercut per torch does the trick.
Ah, that's pretty lame. I lock things in horizontal quite a lot on iPad. I recall not being able to do that on my iPod Touch a while back, but I thought they'd fixed it with an update.
When the IAPs weren't registering for me, a reboot of the game (exiting and closing it out in the taskbar) was enough to fix the problem once I booted it back up again.
Also you *should* be able to just go to the home screen and then open the app again... but we submitted an improvement to the IAP loading behaviour in update #1.
Reviewed by Hodapp himself and stamped with 5 stars. There probably isn't a higher honor in the iOS world for a game. Lol.
