I'm not sure if this has been reported yet, but I'm noticing some weird issues with the way the app "multitasks". In most situations, it will work fine, ie I'll switch to another app or turn off my screen and be able to resume the app normally. It seems like, when the app has run for awhile, if I switch to another app (messaging, usually) and attempt to resume Punch Quest, the initial loading screen will pull up, and my progress will be lost. This has happened numerous times after buying a bunch of hats. I'll buy the hats, customize my character, switch to the messaging app, come back and find that the hats need to be repurchased again. Occasionally, I'll lose progress on any quests that I had been working on. This is all on an iPhone 5 (64GB). Anyway. This is a GREAT GAME. I can't put it down. Compulsively bought both the Rocketcat and Madgarden hats, and spent the excess coins on more hats. Bravo Madgarden and Rocketcat!
Ssylex thanks for the report, yes this has been brought to our attention already and I'm looking into it right now. Will be fixed for update #2. Glad you're having fun, enjoy the hatz
Seriously??? That makes me wanna "PUNCH" something!!.....,eh? Get it? Cuz the game is called Punch.....Quest. Whatever. It sounded better in my head. So, I have 4 Idols, so your telling me I'm pretty much almost there.
Playing this made me go back to play Mage Gauntlet - any change a iphone 5 update is coming? With the virtual d-pad i constantly push off the left edge of the screen and stop moving.
It depends on if that workaround works, that lets us support both iphone 5 widescreen and still keep supporting older devices (that people that bought the game may still be using). Not sure yet.
Yeps! Is it a link to the stats from the Main Menu? I'm actually not sure how I saw them, but it's in there!
YUS, in the PUNCH STATS menu screen, there's an IDOLS button, click that to get your list of idols. It says how many you have found at the top.
I am noticing some lag at times in the animation when it gets chaotic on my iPhone 4 (high settings). I know they included a setting to reduce this so it's not a big deal but I thought I'd share. This is the first game I've come across that appears to max out my RAM on iPhone 4.
The wife is getting mad at me because I keep punching stuff around the house. Like punching the light switch to turn the lights on or punching the remote to change channels. She won't let me around the kids or dog right now. I think I'll go outside and punch every leaf off the tree out front so I don't have to rake the lawn this weekend.
A couple of design choices I'd like to complement/comment on; I love how everything bounces to extend your combo, and the decision to keep speed constant throughout a run is great. To make the token Jetpack Joyride comparison, I found it gets too fast and eventually a decent run becomes an unplayable blur. PQ on the other hands, gets it right imo. The dinosaur mode is great fun; though I don't enjoy Gnomey mode quite as much. I find it a bit difficult to control. Gnomey tends to proc far more often, or maybe that's just me.
A fun game, and after playing one session I quickly paid for some IAP money to support the devs! I rarely ever buyin game currency IAP on principle, so for me to do so a game must be really special in my opinion. Honestly guys, I would have paid for this one! Such a fun game!
How do you get an ultra hat? I'm having loads of fun with this game right now, and if i could request one thing it would be for more mounts like the dinosaur and gnomey. Those are a lot of fun to get
