    Anytime now :)
I got the game engine together to be able to fully play a level. Tomorrow I am building it for the iPhone.

    Hi guys,

    Sorry for the delay.
This is the last call for beta testers before I make the first Ad Hoc build.

Below is a photo of the game running on my iPod:

As once a fellow game-developer said:
"I love deadlines. I love the wooshing sound the make as they go by :)"

I just noticed that the engine runs at a full 60fps without any optimization, so I am considering to push in some more effects and 3D stuff :)

I was just getting ready to drop you an email to find out what was going on with the beta. Is this going to require 3.0 to run?

Good old 2.0 will do just fine :)
I am however compiling and testing on 2.0, 2.1 and 3.0 ... you can run it on any version of your choice.

Sweet. I am running the latest 2.x version, I've just been fighting really hard against upgrading to 3.0 (mainly because I'm too cheap to pay the $10). Guess I'll have to bite the bullet pretty soon, though.

    Finally!

The first beta build just went out to everyone by email.
If anyone else wants in on the beta, just send me your device's UDID.

You can all expect things to move at a LOT FASTER pace now.
We are planning to make daily releases of a new beta version with more and more stuff being enabled, gradually.

I hope you will like this first beta :)

I get the jist of it, but I can't kill the skeletons, nor can I steer. If I am steering, I can't notice it. :S

    I noticed that too.
Its not that you cant kill the skeletons, it is that it doesnt look like it is killing them.
If you start shooting soon enough, you can kill a skeleton.
The way I tell if I killed a skeleton is by the sound. The skeleton will yell when you kill him. You have a yell too, Although, your yell is different from the skeletons.
And I dont think that you are suppose to steer because it is a rail game I believe.

I just tried again, and they still won't die. I shot 5-6 bullets at some of them, and nothing.

Ok, This is what I have found. It takes six shots to kill a skeleton. When you kill a skeleton he "yells" and then disappears. But I noticed that sometimes he doesnt disappear and will hit you.

But dont worry, I am sure that this will be improved in future builds.

I also think that the arrows that popup on the left and right side of the screen are suppose to move you left and right, but it doesnt seem to have much effect yet.

    Hello everyone,

    Some answers first:
    - You won't actually be able to steer much since you are on a rail :) But, there will be an indicator which will require you to steer in the curve direction.
Currently, if you press the left/right steer buttons, you won't be loosing a bit of health in the curves (you loose a bit of health if you don't steer).
However, this will be changed to use the accelerometer instead of touching the screen. It won't be a *killer* feature of the game, but will add some extra fun.

    - Skeleton *resistance* is pretty high. That will change. You can kill them with 6 shots and they die (and you hear a sound). Their resistance will be lowered, and there will be some animation (explosion) when you kill them.
Also, the more you shoot at a skeleton, the less health you loose when you run into him.

The purpose of this first build was to make sure the game engine starts and runs on a variety of devices. Which it does.
You can now expect almost daily new build with new features, changes, bug-fixes, etc. As mentioned earlier above, things will start moving at a fast pace.

Again, many thanks for your help.
