Just a status update. Beta is nearing end. There aren't really any serious bugs left that we know of. Mainly whats left is a bit of content work giving names to dungeons and a few other things related to balancing. I am getting pretty excited, were so close to the end after this 13 month journey(I think we started last may, I can't even remember for sure its been so long). Thanks to everybody who has been helping beta test. The game is so much better because of your help. We incorporated not only bug fixes, but gameplay changes based on your feedback.
because of DragonVale.... im hooked with dragons... downloading all the dragon-related games... lol will put this on my upcoming list.
@Varking: We do not have a date yet, however, we are scheduled to submit the game to apple on Monday. @iOSborne: DragonVale is awesome indeed. This one's not in the same genre...im sure you already know that...but we do have a lot of Dragons! Thanks!
we sent it to apple! (as long as we dont find anything critical in the next few days of testing, this version will go live)
99cents (limited time release price, otherwise 2.99). We really appreciate your positive input, it means the world to us. We take the feedback from this community very seriously.
For those of you on the fence, I have been beta testing this game for the last 3 months. I can tell you with complete certainty that this game is worth considerably more than it costs. It is a relatively large game taking place in a carefully designed world with a mind boggling number of beautifully made monsters. I am really looking forward to the release.
Hey all. Tom from Greyound Games. Just wanted to post something since the game is now in Apple's hands. 1) YAHAHHOOOO. I have been working on this game 14 months now and it is soooo nice to finally have it done. For a game that originally was planned to take 4-5 months, this is some major "feature creep". The quality of what the game was becoming made me sure that letting it grow to what it is today was the right choice. As the only person coding this game, it feels like a child almost I cannot even guess how many hours my Japanese partners put into the game during the content creation portion of the development (monsters, dungeons, worlds quests are all editable by non technical people hence us talking way back about having a world creator tool for people to make their own games one day) but many late nights were spent together on skype 2) We already have finished an update for the game which makes some last minute enhancements so you can tell we will continue to tend to our "baby" to make sure its as great as it can be 3) Lars already mentioned our "thanks for being fans and following this game over the last 5 months" launch sale. I hope you can all take advantage of it 4) Did I mention im so excited this is done? Truly a global effort, Japanese art + design, Italian art, US coding. We just need somebody from Africa and South America to contribute next! 5) The game is fully multi lingual ready. We just have to send out for translations so those will be coming soon. The first ones will be Japanese, German and French.
Forgot to mention, we are doing a campaign over at our facebook page to give early access to the game for FREE! Please check it out, all it takes to qualify is a "share".
Shared! I hope more folks here share it too. Dragon Island Blue deserves all the buzz it can get. Looking forward to it hitting the appstore soon.
thank you sir! Our video made it on the front page!!! Thanks Jared! http://toucharcade.com/2012/07/20/dragon-island-blue-submitted-to-apple-new-trailer-released/
I've always liked the idea of Pokemon, but the cutesy animations and kiddie feel always pushed me away. I like how this is more "grown up" or even just traditional in the monster sense. Really looking forward to playing this. Wish it was out now!
There is optional IAP, which you can use to easily catch or even buy monsters. All 200+ monsters can be captured without iap except for 3 (3 of the 4 starting dragons, which you pick). We plan to let players win the other dragons from each other and more in the future, assuming the game does not flop. If we cant get to that, we will just populate them in the field. Nothing intrusive, our beta testers were not hesitant call us out
