    filiporekhov,

Somehow I did not see your reply before I posted that I thought your game reminded me of a cross between Torchlight and Solomon's Keep.

Thank you for taking the time to post here. I really like your art style and I am looking forward to the game.

So this is not even in beta yet? :( Aww man, I'm stoked to buy this *now*.

You know, the landscape graphics remind me a bit of Rimelands.

oddly enough, the outdoor area is very similar to Rimelands, although the devs are totally different. :)
to me the game plays a lot like Gauntlet, but with way more 'stuff' going on.

Yeah, I noticed different devs. That's why I found it interesting how similar that outdoor area was. That's not a bad thing though, because I liked Rimelands. One of the few iOS games I played and beat to completion.

    I absolutely loved classic Gauntlet 1 & 2!

Last I heard, testing is supposed to start soon, so it'll still be a while till the actual release.

i know, why call it pocket RPG. The ipad doesn't fit in your pocket. With a name like that it sounds like your targeting iphone/touch users yet your starting with ipad. oh well. still can't wait for the game, looks like fun.

Originally it was going to be for iPhone/iPod first (when we registered the name), but the iPad is much easier to develop for so early on we made a decision tackle that before the smaller devices.

We kept the name Pocket RPG because we felt it nicely reflected the slightly cute, quick and fun gameplay and artstyle that we wanted (and because enventually it will fit in your pocket :) ).

    Thanks for the encouragement Dizzy!

I'm not sure why people are complaining so much about the iPad-first release. We (iPhone/iPod) owners get like 95+% of the releases first and then iPad owners often have to sit there waiting for a universal or HD release to play the game in its full glory (yes, I know there's a 2x mode, but it's not going to be as good as an iPad-optimized version). So for once, they get a sick-looking DSS/RPG and the rest of us have to wait for the universal version. It's nothing to throw a fit over.

This is exactly what I keep wanting to say to every post on this thread about why no iPhone or why iPad first. Thank you for putting it so eloquently for me. :) Stoked to play this with my new Fling analog sticks.

either way it looks like a fun game. I just think it's a better business decision to hit that iphone/ipod market first. Now don't get me wrong, i'm an ipad user only and i love the fact that we get to try out the game first. But i would've taken a little more time and made this game universal so i could take advantage of the hundreds of millions instead of just the millions. just my opinion. I'll always be there to supports the devs. though. (((ETA?????)))

It will eventually be released for the iPhone/iPod so I don't think it actually matters which comes out first.

Yeah. People complain and say they will lose interest because of the wait for the other version etc etc, but still buy it anyway. :p

From a marketing standpoint it does. The amount of ipads vs iphone / touches is diffrent that it doesn't make a lot of sense to release on the smaller / and not compatible with the other two - side.

I'll bet it matters for reviews. I'm just guessing here, but I would think that most iPad users are older and have a bit more cash than the average iPod Touch game-player, and would be less likely to leave a pissy 1-star review or complain about price.

It's probably easier to get the interface right when you have more screen space, too.

The game looks nice and I look forward to playing it!
