I hear you. I just want to make sure people don't read what I write as gospel, then bring out the pitchforks if something I said doesn't pan out in the actual game . BTW, I usually game under the handle Josephus, and I will most likely choose a bear again.
Seems like fair team, lolRay. squarezero, can You tell me, what kinds of weapons are available in the game? Stafs, wands, sword, 2-handed swords, axes, great axes, sabres, blades...?
One tap attack is standard, for example in WoW you right click on your target to start using basic attacks, then can select special abilities of your choice to use when needed, from what I can tell, this is the same. All this posting and no MMO's is making me wish my PC hadn't slowed down too much to run WoW lol I will take Archer I think, looks like everyone is going enchantress! (ok Apple, my ipod just hit full charge, make with the game!) edit: Pocket Gamer article http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Various/Pocket+Legends/news.asp?c=19564
Wait, did I read that there's going to be a TA Member guild? If so, I'd be interested, especially if we could get a lot of TA people to be involved. At any rate, I'll probably be playing a Warrior or Enchantress named Sushibox. We'll see when I get my mitts on the game. I'm eager to see it in action though, I can't wait for this to go live.
Like aros2k said, you can use other skills/spells too! And whilst you can't change the appearance or gender of the classes, the armor and weapons are hopefully varied enough to tell people and equipment apart. I read somewhere that helms are currently not implemented into changing the appearance. Since beta testers could only test up to level 12 or 13, there was still much of the game left to reveal. The thing with games like Pocket Legends that rely on mainly partying and dungeon crawling, the main aim becomes levelling and looting. If the loot available in-game isn't enough/varied then I'll be severely disappointed. Agreed! Come on Apple, make it happen! I've got a small list of TA players who are currently waiting to play. I'll add you, link is my in signature. Not exactly a guild yet, I don't think they've even implemented a guild feature yet. I read somewhere, I think it was an interview with the devs, that a guild feature is one of first in a list of things to do.
Have You guys seen DLCs list from the iPad version? Somehow I can't see their full names in the iTunes, but look at these. [...(?) is the place where iTunes cut the full name] 1. Deungeon Camp... (?) 2. Dungeon Camp... (?) 3. Additional Char... (?) 4. Emotes Pack 1 5. 500 Gold 6. 5000 Gold 7. Emotes Pack 2 8. Archer's Dark... (?) 9. 2500 Gold 10. Item Pack: Warrior Looking good, isn't it? The most I am intersted in those "Archer's Dark" and "Item Pack: Warrior".
Have to start a new job tomorrow, knowing my luck it will probably hit first thing in the morning lol
Way back on the Dark Shrine thread someone asked for an online version, I said I was beta testing said game - this is it! I like pretty much everything about this game - the controls look/feel are all great, and it's 100% cooperative play, which I enjoy. The little campaigns are fun to play through, and there are a number of mini dungeons that are better for quick games. (Stones 'n Bones being my favorite.) There's plenty of game here for free, and while there are consumables you can pay cash for, most of the DLC is new dungeons, which you can play through to your hearts content. (Another nice thing IMHO is that while you can buy uber powerful stuff with cash, but you can't actually use it until your character has the level/stats to handle it.) Good job Spacetime Studios, and congratulations on the release!
Yep, same here. @Jarek: That's the level of detail I'd rather not go into, because my memory could very well be faulty. I mostly used axes with the bear, but there plenty of swords etc. Never played an enchantress, but I did seem to run into a variety of wand/staff-like loot. Archers had a variety of bows available, but I'm not sure what (if anything) they could use for melee. On character customization: there's plenty of loot in the game, all with different appearance, designs, etc. At one point in the beta test we actually got to see beyond level 12 (I got one of my characters to level 18 I believe) and were able to test the purchase of additional dungeons (some of which were actually not dungeons at all). But Ayjona is right: tons of loot does not really amount to real character customization. As I understand it, you can (or will be able to) change your character's actual appearance through In-App purchases; that's an aspect of the game that I, personally, did not get to test. I'm hoping that they make costume packs cheap to purchase, as I can imagine that they will be very popular items. More to the point, though: I hope that nobody is expecting a WoW clone on your iPhones/iPod Touches. This game is quite a bit smaller than that, and with good reason; it's made to be played on a portable platform, easy to plug-in/drop out, still fun for someone who approaches the platform a bit more casually (though not a casual game at all). At the same time, the game will reward those who want to play it more intensely/deeply, particularly as it develops over time.
I'm trying to find the DLC list on the itunes store, but I can't. Sounds interesting though. Warrior pack? What about archer and enchantress
In the beta, I preferred to play an archer if I was by myself - I'd thwap arrows at baddies as I ran away from them. In groups, I'd play a warrior.
Guys... Too many GREAT things to wait for, because... iPhone OS 4 is coming on April 8th!!! http://bit.ly/a8JGOm
This game looks phenomenal. Such polish. I am a fan of the freemium model as it helps developers make even better games. When this game hits my name will be DaDramaLlama. I will probably be an enchantress as I always choose the unpopular class to see how awesome it is. I have a friend that will be a warrior and travel with me. I'm trying to tell him to join TA. anyways I was wondering if others would like to play with me as well. I'm look ing for archers and warriors. On a second note I'm getting my iPad in June after graduation. That is also when I'm getting my iPhone.
That doesn't necessarily mean it's releasing on April 8th -- it could just be a "reveal." Great news either way...
It's just three days, anyway. squarezero, please answer my question about variety of weapons, please. What kinds of weapons are available in PL? Is there weapon proficiency?
YEAAAAAAAA!!!!! 4.0 FTW!!! My predictions for new features. - Changeable home screen like iPad - Ability to multitask. - Ability to download Pages, Keynote, and Numbers Those are my main 3 that I want. Especially 1 and 3. Hopefully apple doesn't screw us(cough september 09 cough).
No weapon proficiency that I remember. As I mentioned earlier, the Bear had access to a large variety of axes and swords (both magical and mundane), but I just don't remember the specifics. Every class/race seemed to have plenty of weapons available.
Check the link in my signature, just made a list of people that will be joining from TA as of today. I'll add you to it and your friend if he decides to join TA. Jarek! That could be why so many iPhone games are delayed. If it is though, then that sucks. I don't want to wait until april 8th for the game to be released. Fingers crossed, that's not the case and that they release it sooner.
Not at this time. It is a way to prevent gold-farming, but definitely something to consider in the future. Please be patient with them, they have just launched a revolutionary device and I am sure they have their own fires to fight. Hang in there, we want the iPhone version out asap as well! You can... the skills you learn are dependent on your class. However, you can allocate attribute points to strength, dex, or int. This will allow you to equip other classes' weapons and armor. So if you wanted to be a fireball-slinging tank, you could! You will as we scale. Initially we will have two servers up: Alterra and Fnord. Different servers will have different characters. You may be referring to the fact that you can play the same character across different devices (iPod, iPhone, iPad). You have your choice of how to attack. AutoAttack will close and fight until your enemy is dead. This lets you get into a combat loop and still manage all your skills, potions, etc. You can also change that option if you like the clicky-click Character armor and shields also affect your appearance, we will be implementing new head wearables, faces, etc. as we grow. There are thousands of items available as loot. Great questions - you guys keep 'em coming!
