Haha, everytime you post, I always hope it's news of the release in the AppStore. You are right though, post post post until this game comes out. I'm probably going to call my character "iRay" or "lolRay". Something along those lines, so you can't miss me! When the game is finally released, up for partying? I haven't decided what to be yet, either the enchantress or the warrior. I enjoy playing healer and spells in MMOs but at the same time, a bear with a 2h sword just sounds badass! You guys?
Of course I will play Enchantress I think, although bear does seem very cool! Not sure what to call my character yet, used the names Aroste and Dorayt in WoW, probably will be Aroste or just Aros so you guys know its me Will be fun to play through dungeons with TA members, if we all add each other perhaps we can make up for no guilds And I wish I was posting news of the release
Seeing as my xbox just RROD i'l definitely be on this a lot when it's released, and look forward to playing with fellow TAers. Definitely going enchantress, if only because I know il always be welcome in a group
Enchantresses were always very welcome during the beta test, but having a bear around was also appreciated. One of the bear's special abilities is what amounts to a taunt -- you can draw attention to yourself and pull away monsters from nearby players. Once they're busy with the tank, the archer and enchantress can go to town on the mob with much less risk to themselves.
I will be bear using two-handed swords or blades. My username will be Jarek or JarekPL See You in the game soon (hopefully!).
Haha, I got that too! Happened twice to me. I've since then, stored my 360 and purchased a PS3. Good decision! Yeah, it'll either be healer/damage or tank/damage for me. I have a sneaky feeling the Archer will be the most picked class. But even then, I'll still choose enchantress or warrior. I'm trying to figure out a simple way of asking this question; If I chose bear, for example, could I be both a tank and a damage dealer? How are skills setup and learned? I'm guessing every level, you gain skill and stat points to spend. Skill to level up skills and stats to level up your strength/etc. Are all skills available to each class at the beginning? Or do you need something unlock them like higher level or loot drop? I think it'd be great when the game is FINALLY released, we can post our "game names" in this thread and then find eachother in town. We can then party up and experience this new game together, kill some mobbies and whatnot I'll most likely be choosing the first server available on the list.
Properly equipped bears/warriors can do massive damage, though, without a doubt, their primary ability is to be able to stand there and take it like a...well, bear. Levelling up is what you would expect, with different items becoming usable at different skill settings. Special abilities become available automatically as you level up, and you can choose to apply skill points to specific abilities. Among my favorites for the bear were a "rage" ability that allows you to do more damage for a period of time and a push-back stomp that did area damage (that one also looks really cool). As you can guess, using special abilities expends mana (or whatever they call it in the game -- I forget), so it pays to invest some skill points in intelligence (I think that's what it is), and investing in mana potions. BTW, I'm almost certain that there are in-app purchases for respecing, but I can't remember how expensive they were.
There was only one server in the beta test, but I'm pretty certain that that's not the case in the official release. However, I remember reading in the STP interview that characters are available in all servers at all times.
Thanks for the speedy reply! This definitely answered most of what I needed to know. So I'm guessing if I were to go bear, I could choose to specialise in tanking or damage, or be a hybrid of both? Just depends on how I "upgrade" the skills. So if I concentrate on upgrading defensive skills like taunt and such then I'd become an ultimate tank. If I concentrate on offensive skills like rage and that stomp skill, then I'd specialise in damage and 2hand attacks. I'm curious about spending some stat points for intelligence as a bear, since it does not much else for a warrior apart from increase mana, if I read correctly. I may just choose bear and become a tank fortress since not many people would go that route and many would need a tank. On the other hand, I'm a big fan of damage. Lol. Yeah, I'm curious to know how the servers work. We should definitely go for the first server on the list, since that'll be the most populated throughout the game.
That sounds about right. Please keep in mind that it's been a few weeks since I've played Pocket Legends, and in the meantime I've been caught up in about 3 other RPGs at the same time. What I mean is: take what I write with a grain of salt -- I could very well be confusing a detail or two.
Just compiling a quicklist of who's joining from recent replies and what they may choose, just reply in this thread if you want to be added to it, I might put it in my siggy:- (Using TA forum names for now) lolRay - Warrior/Enchantress Aros2k - Enchantress/Archer Lazuli - Enchantress Squarezero - Warrior Martin JF - Archer/Warrior Jarek - Warrior TheBeastlyNinja - Warrior Playn - Enchantress Sushibox - Warrior/Enchantress DaDramaLlama - Enchantress txag2005 - Warrior/Enchantress WolfyB - Enchantress/Warrior Bankai44 - ChocoVanilla - Archer MattyD94 - Archer I guess my prediction of archer being the most picked class might be a wrong one Thank you anyway, I'm sure we'll all know soon enough! I'm just antsy to ask questions about the game because I really want to play it already
Isn't "one-tap attack" a shortcoming, not a feature? Also, switching weapons is not commonly denoted as "character customization". It is a bit of a shame that the first 3D MMO for the iPhone is byte-sized. But the game still looks very promising.
