Diablo was also ahead of its time in terms of gameplay, online play, mature graphics, addictive storyline, brutal PvP, and had the capability to allow I believe 8 players to play together if I remember right, this might only allow 3 to venture together? how is that massive. Nevertheless I will play this game when it comes out of review in a few months..lawl..
I stayed up so many nights playing Diablo 1 on battle.net. That was my first real online game (that and Quake 1). I remember when everybody would just go into games and PK each other, and half the players downloaded and used trainers, so half the players were level 99's with the best gear in the game. Ahhh, those were the days... On this game, I'll play it because honestly, it still looks like the only legitimate online RPG right now. Without the MMO aspects though, I don't think I'll probably play past the free portions unless it finds a way to hook me in.
I'm sure I remember a tester commenting that 'they couldn't even find all the dungeons' So I expected an overworld. Oh well, it still looks awesome. Hurry up Apple! If it is just dungeons they shouldn't be calling it an MMO, really.
Well that video might be deceiving too, as it was hard to see what was going on. Hopefully we'll all get to see for ourselves soon.
Fingers crossed it will be released later today or tomorrow morning! If there is an overworld I hope they have called the main city Beargrimmar
Let's hope, but I've already told myself not to expect it for the next week. Today is Easter so I imagine if its not already approved, it won't be approved until at least Monday.
Couple of things: * There is a town in the game where you can meet other players, wander about, etc. * Dungeons are chosen via menu -- you basically create a game that others can join. That game can be open or closed (by password). So basically you can meet people in town and invite them to an adventure or set up a game and wait for people to join you * I'm not sure what the party limit is, but it's 4 or more * Targetting is not really an issue in the game -- once you start attacking someone you lock with them -- I forget how you unlock. I never had a problem targetting the boss among a mob As I've mentioned elsewhere, if you want to play with dozens of other players at once, do PvP battles, form guilds (though those are coming to PL), build castles, etc, you want to look elsewhere. You'll find many of those features in IMO, for example. PL has some persistent elements, but it's really build more for pick-up-and-play. That's why personally I liked it so much: I'd rather spend my time in dungeons fighting monsters than gathering a group of people. One of my favorite adventures during the beta test took place when I was waiting for a friend at Starbucks: I just fired up the game, found an open party, headed down to a dungeon in minutes. The group I played with was great, and when my friend showed up I was able to pull out without causing too much trouble to my companions. In my view, that's the perfect kind of gameplay for a portable platform.
Your right square, it is a great concept for mobile, I am sure I will enjoy it. However PvP is a huge part of RPGs for me, and I hope they will implement an arena or do some kind of guild battle when they bring guilds out, just to have that extra something, because PvP can be about 50% of the reason I level up in any current MMORPG.
For me 80% of leveling up in every kind of MMO are new items and changing look. I don't care about PvP at all unless one of those players steals me mobs - then he's PKed. This is why I am curious about variety of customization options: how many DIFFERENT armor, weapons, headgears, shields models are available in the basic, free version of PL?
Nice to see the first game i've beta tested is now live anyway,i'm not also sure until how many people can join in a room just for more idea on the game,if someone here played grand chase, this game got some ideas from it,there are 3 default characters to choose from there is a list of dungeons, each dungeons are divided into multiple chapters higher chapters has higher level requirements now with the gameplay,as i said, like in grand chase, you can go with all the chapters alone or you can find friends to help you to beat levels faster and easier ok i'm tired typing on this old nokia phone i hope my post helped btw, i also want more customizations, characters, etc. We can see those if this will succesful and also someone suggested to have a defend-your-base mode so you'll never know
I hear you. All I can say is: make sure to put in a request for PvP in the developer's forum. I don't see a reason why it couldn't be implemented in the future. @Jarek: Not sure what's free and what's in the pay dungeons. All I can say is, from my experience there's tons of loot in general. Headgear, sadly, is the one thing that doesn't show on your character. I'm out with my son today so I won't be posting much -- I'll catch up later today.
Thank You, squarezero. One more question: do the items in PL have different grades like unique, elite, legend, sets? Please, tell, it's essential for such loot-maniac like me Have fun with Your son tonight,
Games under New Releases all seem to be dated yesterday, with the amount Apple makes they should have forced everyone to work on Easter!
Without additional purchase you max out at 12 or 13. Some content expansions (like new emotes, or dungeons and the ability to level) will cost money. Some system expansions (like PvP or Housing) will come for free. Current in-game items allow you to level to 25. Game is designed to level far past 100. Animals... Why not? ;-) DLC will come frequently, we have some in the can now and will be cranking them out rapidly. You cannot. You have to have at least wireless, 3G, or Edge connectivity to connect to our servers. The game does play well as a solo experience however. iPhone is in review. Apple has been working their tails off to get the fire-hose of applications they received approved. I am sure they will get to PL iPhone as soon as they can. We want to see it too See previous answer... Some new stuff out for pay, some new stuff out for free. There are communal areas where you can socialize with up to 25 folks. Dungeon instances are capped at 5 (this is where it felt the most fun). Conversations are on the Short List. PvP is on the Shorter List. A ton... there are hundreds of items of loot in the free portion. More character customization is on the Shortish List. They do have different grades. It is implied in the title of items and also indicated by color. Exhaustive reply, again. Thank You very much for an explaination. One more thing about items: are You going to implement enchanting them? Combining, refining, upgrading its level, quality, addig, so called, +1 modificators? Excuse me curiousity, as I mentioned before, items are what I care in RPGs and MMORPGs the most. Great. But seriously - why animals? I have nothing against, I am just curious? Animals are not chosen too often as heros of MMORPGs
EXACTLY! Undetermined about crafting/ enchanting items at this stage. Great idea but there are probably bigger fish to fry for awhile.
actually enchanting is a very fun and keep people interested as they try to keep improving on equipment I figured it was already added, will be nice to have once it is though. thanks for the answers. Please don't bring out any expansion or anything until iPhone version is released..iPad people already have an advantage on us.
Seems like list of desired features in upcoming updates is kilometer-long. Slowly, one by one, You can implement them all to make Your game perfect. But enchanting is a must, so is composing Exactly. For now iPad users are grinding while we are doing nothing. Imagine, we start the game, enter first dungeon as 1-level noob and there are players at 10 or higher how are looting only. Pretty demotivating
