It all depends on how long levelling up takes, and how much playtime you get from each dungeon pack if the game is gonna turn out to be worth it. I'm sure Spacetime know they have to get the balance right though and from the comments of those who have worked with them I don't think they are likely to pull a ngmoco and be hitting us for payment every 5 minutes.
This might be a dumb question but, if my friend has an ipad, and I have an iPod Touch, can I play this game with him? Like is it a game that no matter what hardware you're running it on you can still play with people on the opposite hardware?
im pretty sure they've said it is across the ipad/iphone/ipod touch and all are able to connect to another
This will be out on the iPhone soon enough. And trust me: it plays perfectly fine on a small screen. @braiton: It really depends what you mean by "enjoy" If you're talking about becoming the most powerful player in the game with the minimal amount of effort, well, yeah, you'll have to pay (beyond the new dungeons). But if you're happy advancing at a steady clip, all you'll ever have to spend money on is actual content. Personally, the only other area I would spend money on is additional character customization, when it becomes available. But we're not talking about a system that encourages people to spend $20+ just to keep up witj the joneses (like Eliminate, though there it's not really necessary either).
I know it is going to be released soon, but the anticipation is killing me lol. It's like Eliminate all over again haha, but this time, it's something that I'll actually play more than 2 times a month. Either way, I have this thing about gadgets, even though I don't need/want them, I STILL end up buying them. (PSP, VuGo, DS, JuiceBox [if you don't know what a VuGo is, its a crappy portable TiVo, and a JuiceBox is an oversized iPod classic])
It's 2 AM here, so I'm going to get some sleep now. I believe I've checked the Appstore 50 or so times today. Hopefully it'll be out by the time I wake up. I've already filled my fridge with Red Bull and Club Sandwiches, my 3GS is fully loaded with an additional 2 battery charges, and I got no work until Monday morning. My fiance is also going crazy from hearing me going on and on about this game and how great I think it's going to be, so I'm guessing she's prepared for me locking myself in our bedroom and playing for 18 hours straight once this game releases. I'm kind of a power gamer when it comes to MMORPGs, I just hope I don't get addicted.
Yeah it does depend. If they make us have to buy extra areas and just limits people who can't pay to a certain area which won't let them get past their maximum peak of development, then it won't be much enjoyable. Even if it's not like that, some people will get upset with the occassional rich kid being the best player and stomping on everyone. We'll have to see how everything turns out.
The way the game is designed, it's not very useful to become artificially super powerful because: 1) You can use gear only at your own level. 2) The game play is cooperative; loot and exp. points are shared equally among the party 3) Dungeon have min/max level requirements. I can see people buying the odd piece of gear that they haven't encountered in the wild, but the value of bulking up with cash is pretty limited. Now, once they implement PvP, then it's a different story. Hopefully they will create a good matching system that prevents people from dominating the leaderboards by using cash infusions.
Haha, thank you. Don't misunderstand. It's not as bad as it might seem from my previous post. I have some tattoos I need to get fixed tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, and I got a 4 hour weight lifting competition on Friday, and I have to plan my fiances 21th birthday party on saturday. Aside from that though, I'll be drinking red bull and grinding. Edit: I know I said I'd be sleeping by now, but I just had to check if the game had been released.
OMG ITS OUT! Is that I wanted to say when I finally see it in the APPStore, since it should be any minute now.
I hope there isn't going to be a crippling difference in gameplay between wifi/3G/Edge. I live in a remote jungle, and I only get Edge, which can be painfully slow.
itunes says that it's available on iphone/ipod touch, but when I try to download it, it says that it's not available. Also, it's not on the mobile appstore yet... ???
