You cannot have a "pay once only" price for an MMOG. Not if it's going to be any good. Good MMOGs need to be constantly evolving. In order for that to happen developers need to keep getting paid. There are right and wrong ways to go about this though, but from what I have heard so far this game appears to mostly be on the right track.
Agreed, I also think it's great that no one can pay for an advantage at the game, like you can with other freemium games, which then turn into whoever dumps the most money is at the top of the leaderboard (I'm looking at you, We Rule...).
Completely agree with you, really looking forward to giving this a try. IMO paying for content is much better than a monthly sub. Hope its here for Iphone before the easter break is over.
no i mean how i described it is the same, only difference is i used the word freemium instead of pay-for-content
I can't wait to try the iPhone version. I tried wow 14 day trial and I didn't like how you try to cram for the most levels and quests in a month. I would rather pay for dungeons, quests, and levels in packs, and then, play them at my own pace but still mmorpg.
I hope this shows up on the iPhone app store today - I need something to do this weekend amidst all the iPad mania.
No kidding! I've been playing this for the last 3 months or so, putting in about 2 or 3 hours a week regularly, and then they shut down the servers and closed the accounts to get ready for the launch. I need my fix!
Thanks for the kind words from those of you that have played. For those that have not, we are every bit as anxious as you for the iPhone version to go live! It is "in approval" and has been for awhile. We know that the iPhone approval guys had a pretty tough week last week, and we hope they get to the phone version of Pocket Legends asap
Checking the AppStore every hour or so at the minute, it looks pretty much what I've been hoping to eventually arrive on an iDevice. Question though; does the spellcaster have any offensive skills or is it solely based on heals and buffs forcother party members?
The enchantress is like the red mage in FF, with both offensive and defensive spells. Each class, as you would expect, has it's own weapons, armies, and special abilities.
I'm really excited for this. Will probably play the warrior first just because I like how he looks. Hopefully the servers are ready for this, don't want another We Rule launch day fiasco.
