It's a pretty safe bet Katamari is going to be highly similar to the last one you played. Both the PS2 games, the PSP game and the PS3/360 versions are basically all the exact same thing, I can't for the life of me remember which level goes with which game. It was fun the first couple of times, but just make sure you know you want to play the same thing over again rather than expecting something new.
Thanks MidianGTX. I read up on the game and am going in knowing that it's more of the same with a few new tweaks (ability to expand, contract the Katamari), but I just love the gameplay, it's zen like for me. HSG is the same way, more of the same, but I love that game as well. Another title from my PSP days that I always went back to.
I played Virtual Tennis 4 Demo and was very impressed by the graphics; especially pertaining to how the Vita can convey realistic character models and facial expressions. I saw little to no difference between PC version and Vita port. I think alternate control methods are likely a significant selling point to this game, and the demo only utilized default console-style controls. Again, Uncharted is amazing graphically in comparision to any other portable game ever created, but the AA is missing. I heard the resolution is scaled back. None of these are game breakers. It's a first gen game, pre optimization. Second analog stick feels loose initially. Wipeout is blazing fast and the tracks are visually stunning, but load times may or may not be an issue. I heard it could be demo related. Gravity Rush is certainly innovative and visually impressive, although in more of an abstract, artistic manner. Not so much in terms of realism. Character models are cell shaded. Huge, open, multi-tier environments that scale vertically, like Crackdown. Control scheme does not feel initially intuitive. Controlling "gravity" with percision not as easy as it looks. Loose second analog stick a factor. Uncharted is a go. Wipeout is a go. Gravity Rush is a maybe. F1 2011 will tempt me, even though I haven't seen in action and I already own the 3DS version. The visuals on the 3ds are relatively weak and the 3d effect provides no benefit. Also a sucker for racing games. Which is why I will give a glance to Asphalt Injection. If its nothing more then a Asphalt Adrenaline Vita port, no chance. Also, don't forget about Silent Hill next month. Can still be purchased to buy Unit 13. Motorstorm and Resistance both summer releases.
Best game so far that I owned (MvC3U, UC, HSG and sooo many demos), HSG6 definitely! Followed by UC. UC graphic impresses me and the storyline picks up halfway. MVC3U I haven't been able to enjoy it as much because not so many people online (can be remedied after US launch maybe). Amongs all the demo, SUMIONI and WIPEOUT is the headturning one. Wipeout is awesome without a doubt.
Asphalt Injection, for the most part, is a direct port of Asphalt Adrenaline, from what I can tell. I guess the main difference would be the lack of in-game purchases, at least I hope so.. Would be such a shameless move if they try and sell you exclusive cars as DLC.
Amazon.de has a preorder bundle, but only games I dont want. I think I'll wait a month or so and get a used one bundled with at least 16GB and Uncharted and/or Wipeout.
Tales of Innocence R became the first Vita game to come into the top 20 Media Create sales chart with 54,853 copies sold. Incidentally, Vita sales increased from 15,219 units sold last week to 18,942 this week. It's not much of jump, but it's nice to see an increase in sales for the first time.
^ good news, I suppose. Also, good news for fans of the fighting genre: if you haven't already seen it, there is substantial footage of Mortal Combat Vita in action. There's some talk about graphics being poorer than expected but IMO it looks seriously amazing, especially at 60fps.

Anyone actually watch a video for army corps of hell? It's basically pikimen with heavy metal music lol
It does look very cool, my only qualm is if I can drop another £40 on something which I already own on the 360, my head says no and I should spend it on something new but I think I may be picking this up somewhere down the line, on another note, I had an email from Amazon today telling me that I would be entitled to upgrade my pre-order of my wifi only Vita to include a free 8 gig memory card plus a game for an additional £15! Sweet.
Do you have to be preordered by a certain date to get in on this? I'd appreciate if you could share some insight on how I could get this deal. Amazon.com currently has no such offers up.
Not entirely sure as I only scanned over the email briefly, I think it's to do with the fact that they will soon be offering some kind of bundle for the Vita, the email did mention that I'll get another email with all the details by the 7th of this month to tell me the next steps to take advantage of the offer so I'll be able to let you know more by then, my pre order for my Vita was placed on7th January this year if that's any help. Edit: here's the email I received: We have recently added a PlayStation Vita bundle offer in which you can get an 8GB memory card for free and a selected game for £15. As you have pre-ordered already, rest assured that you will not miss out. We will send promotional codes and redemption instructions to you by Tuesday, February 7. This will enable you to take advantage of the same offer without cancelling your PlayStation Vita console pre-order. # # # Kind regards, Amazon.co.uk Video Games Team
Is anyone else feeling hyped as the days get closer to release? I am usually excited about new hardware, but after being able to demo the unit, my excitement is over the top! Out of curiousity, anyone want to swap PSN friend id's?
Man, February is an expensive month: 2/7 Resident Evil: Revelations (3DS) - paid off 2/7 Circle Pad Pro (3DS) - paid off 2/14 Tales of the Abyss (3DS) - paid off 2/21 Metal Gear Solid 3D (3DS) - paid off 2/22 PS Vita WiFi - paid off/Xmas gift 2/22 Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - paid off 2/22 Rayman Origins (Vita) - paid off 2/22 8GB card (Vita) - paid off 2/22 screen protectors - paid off 2/22 Vita cradle - paid off TBD/US Gravity Rush (Vita) - paid off Wanting: Street Figther X Tekken (Vita) Gamestop had a Vita demo unit, in demo mode. The hardware is very handsome. I got to play a few Demos of games, while some were impressive, there were a few flaws: Uncharted, has aliasing and runs at a lower resolution than the Vita screen, almost Has the same visual impact of iPhone games, running without retina support. The same goes for Gracity Rush. While these were small visual flaws, they did leave me slightly disappointed. I initially had Ninja Gaiden Sigma +, as the other game to get alongside Uncharted. I changed my mind to instead cancel that, and switch it to Rayman Origins. I had ignored the game, despite tons of critical praise on other platforms. So, after coming home from trying a Vita, I d/l the Rayman Origins demo on Xbox Live and gave it a spin... That game is just awesome. The music, sound design, art direction (hand drawn visuals) really lent to me lusting to play this on the OLED Vita screen. I'm now anxiously awaiting giving the full game a play. It also has this cool feature, touching the rear touch pad (double tap) will zoom the game in: 1:20 mark http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=vita%20rayman&source=web&cd=22&ved=0CD4QtwIwATgU&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D7jDeBkCuwow&ctbm=vid&ei=9hosT8ygHcmIiAL3p6DgCg&usg=AFQjCNHDpa6Elym2UVWwDNneN59vu7Sn9g Yay!
This sounds exactly right. I was trying to figure out why the games had a softness to the graphics. Not quite blurry, but not razor sharp either. I demoed Virtua Tennis 4 and it all became clear (literally!). VT4 runs at native resolution and the difference is pretty shocking. I'm hoping that as developers get more accustomed to the hardware that we see more titles optimized to run in native resolution.
Is anyone planning on going mostly or all digital? I've been spoiled by the ease of switching apps on the iPhone, so I'm considering going mostly digital out of convenience. The only problem is that my college campus uses annoying WPA-802.1x encryption, so I won't be able to download new games unless I go home or find a Wifi hotspot somewhere.
I'm doing all physical with the exception of super stardust delta. When it comes time to sell it your downloadable games will be worth nothing because there tied to your PSN or SEN because sony changed the name. Also the it's going to be a long time before those 4 dollar discounts on games make up for $100+ dollars in memory cards
