Things I like about the game. Decent endless runner. The diversity of the game. Has a lot of different views and gameplay. The action is frantic. I like the checkpoints, maybe some people won't but I like it. The small disk size. It is now free. Pitfall, Zaxxon escape and Sonic Jump are kind of in this using names for no reason. All these games are ok, but not exceptional. So yeah, if pitfall came out as Pitrun or something then yeah, I would have rated it a little higher to recommended but not highly recommended. Anyway, well worth downloading to see what you think. Especially cause it is a small disk size. I probably would have preferred this with a much bigger disk size with ipad retina graphics, but then again I play it on my new ipad.
Paid for this a couple weeks back and regretted the purchase. Nothing particularly outstanding about the gameplay and somewhat ugly to boot.
Glad I didn't buy this, it does what it wants to well enough but has been done x1000 times before. Nice enough to try it out for the namesake, but doesn't do enough new to warrant staying on device.
Game is fun and offers some variety but i would rather play Temple Run. Still its free and worth DL atleast.
Yep, exactly. Hell, I even bought it on release with absolutely no regrets, but the game has absolutely no staying power. Everyone interested in the Pitfall franchise should probably give this a go, but I'd be surprised if anyone considered this a must-have.
I for one enjoy this game, I don't think I'll delete it yet, but it'll probably be one of the many games on my phone that aren't played that often. I enjoy it a lot more than the overrated Temple Run. The major gripe I have is the controls. I'm really surprised no one here has mentioned it, not even anyone reviewing it in the App Store. Here's a little excerpt from my review of the game regarding the controls: "Â…but I noticed more often than not that the controls is what's killing me. Once I swiped up, it was registered as a whip attack. Another just plain didn't respond. And the 1 second delay between it registering your gesture makes all the difference, because that often got me killed as well. The option to tweak the tilt sensitivity wouldn't hurt either."
Got it, tried it, deleted it. How the hell can they call that Pitfall??? It's nothing like pitfall, what utter trash
Wow, I think I might have just set a personal record for the fastest deletion of a game... Too bad really. DBC
I don't think it's fair that most of your are simply bashing the game over a silly grudge. I doubt most of you that say you didn't like it even PLAYED the game, or are simply Temple Run fanboys. So what they used the name Pitfall to get more downloads? I one of you were to make a popular franchise, would you do no less, for more profit? Now I suggest you guys stop whining and actually try the game, or download the Activision Anthology and simply purchase the original Pitfall. Your choice. Just my two cents.
FWIW, there's also a third group you forgot to mention: people who could care less about the original Pitfall, don't particularly care for TR, and just happen to think this game is boring, riddled with IAPs, and not worth the space it takes up. Just sayin'. DBC
Jaguar Patch? Hello, all! Has anyone achieved the jaguar patch? This is the one where you have to get the jaguar token five times in one game. My biggest run is 16,921 meters, and I obtained the token four times (the first time the token appeared right a the beginning of the game). Has anyone obtained this coveted patch? To me, this is the hardest patch to get. I have 23/33 patches, and this one is the only one giving me difficulties. If anyone has any tips, I would love to hear them. Thanks, Frisbee19461
Downloaded and started playing it last night. It's actually not that bad. Does anyone know what the number by the shopping cart for the store is for? I've noticed that it tends to drop one after you play again, but other times I've noticed that it has risen. Probably nothing important but I'm still what to know what it's for!
I liked it. Except for the fact that its economic model is catered to specifically making money (SO many ways to spend real money for the game that it's not even funny). Thus, I deleted the game. A lot of better runners than this.
