WOW, this just gets better and better.....it looks terrific ! I want this app as a surprise early release on Black Friday....lol
Looks really good, nice integration of the flipper displays, good tables. This one will be an instabuy
I'm really looking forward to this. I like Williams Pinball HOF for the PS3 much more than Zen Pinball. As much as I try, I just can't enjoy the ZP tables. They are too cramped and the ball physics are too juiced up. Theres very little table feel to the game. WPHOF on the other hand plays great. I used to play Firepower quite a lot at a local bowling alley back in the 80's and the version in WPHOF is fantastically familiar to me in the way it plays. You can excercise great ball control and theres some nice weight to the ball physics.
I like Zen's originals, but I agree with you that nothing beats playing real tables, or at least replicas of them.
+1 to that. I'm counting the days till this is released. I love Zen, but playing "real" tables is going to be so much better, imo.
FINALLY a proper pinball simulator developer!! I tried telling the Gameprom guys early on just how wrong they got such a simple thing as the actual flippers themselves but still they managed to screw it up in the later games. I loathe all these pinball games done by people who very evidently have never even played one of the real classic ones. It's all back to the 80's where pinball "games" were done because it was easy and a quick cash-in for amateur programmers. To do a proper pinball simulation, like the Pro Pinball series, it takes actual skill and design. FarSight screwed up the physics on the first Pinball Hall of Fame release (the gotlieb one) but got it almost perfect on the second one.. and of course the table design is spot on as it's as close to reality as it can get. I just hope they prioritize framerate over pretty graphics. It's vital for a good play experience.
Completely agree! While I love to see as many pinball apps as possible, I'm getting tired of seeing developers who are watering down the pinball experience by moving the flippers closer together and trying to make it too easy to appeal to the casual gamers. Anyone who's played real pinball knows that it's just not the way it really is. As much as I like Zen, they're guilty of it as well.... So that's why I'm really looking forward to playing virtual tables that are based on REAL tables. I want the tables to be both fun AND realistically challenging, and that's why I think this will be the best pinball app on iOS.
That would be fantastic. I'll ask on their FB page. Please comment there to show them there are others interested as well. https://www.facebook.com/pinballarcade?ref=ts
I wish someone would make another version of this: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20024029-1.html
