Yeah for sure, I don't understand why they had to make such a big deal out of this. It doesn't look like Phoenix Wright and why make us all hyped when they know we're waiting for this HD version. Oh well back to waiting...hopefully for not too long.
And without any real details or hands on with that particular game. That was really really bad for TA's reputation.
Full hands-on next Friday. The game is awesome. I've been playing it all day. I'm sorry if I made anyone mad, but this is definitely in similar genre to Phoenix Wright. One would think people would be stoked about a developer taking the basic idea and making it way better but what do I know.
It's ok Eli but you have got to realize Phoenix Wright is an extremely popular game. And don't get me wrong I think Devils Attorney looks pretty epic, the trailers music alone suggests that.
Maybe if "by making it better" you mean making a completely different kind of gameplay entirely. At least that's what I get from the video. But I guess you played the game and I didn't, so we'll see when October 11 comes.
I'm not amused by the TouchArcade tweet, I thought they had a release date for Phoenix Wright HD. Good job disappointing PW fans and dampening any hype for Devil's Attorney, Touch Arcade. I don't think you could have done any more damage by comparing it to PW.
Judging by the crazy number of people who added it to their watch list in the app today (like, it would've been in the top 10 most anticipated games list) I don't think anything was damaged and the people who are disappointed are in the extreme minority. But; like I said, I'm sorry if you're angry or felt mislead.
Well i think the game looks great but the gameplay when compared with PW seems to be really different and there's more to Ace Attorney than the courtroom. So when you talk about this particular series, people tend to expect something either done by the creators of PW or the hd remake. But i'm looking forward to Ta's review/october 11th anyway!
Who did the Soundtrack for this game? I expected a PW game, but this one looks really good too. The Music is especially catchy. - Day 1 Purchase if there are not too many IAP.
Well the original themes are by Masakazu Sugimori and then noriyuki iwadare took over. I absolutely love the ost and i would heartily recommend the "Gyakuten Saiban Orchestra Album" and the "Gyakuten Saiban Jazz Album". It's really amazing what you can do with the same music on different genres.
To clarify did Eli mention a hands on on PW 123 or the other game? I am willing to spend $X on PW HD, where X is 10x price of any app in the App Store.
No, it was about another game. But at least we know that the game is coming in fall. So it should be soon!
The only thing I thought was peculiar was the remark about "adding tons of humor along the way", because I find the PW series to be hysterical. Admittedly the humor in PW is more goofy/ridiculous where this looks to be much more sly/cynical. Looks cool, though.
