3 sold was actually my optimistic projection for sales - with your purchase we're up to 2 so far, and one of those was my wife :)

Thanks very much BTW, and if you have any suggestions i'll try and get them implemented.

Basically - I really like it.

A couple of things I'd improve.... And are really nitpicks, nothing major...

When you teleport, I seem to remember that you are facing the robot you just teleported from, rather than the other direction - thus making it easier to absorb straight away.

The font is quite hard to read.

The buttons are very close the the corners of my iPhone, so I'll have to take the iSkin of my phone to ensure I can press the buttons with 100% reliability... maybe move them in slightly....

The colours seem a bit drab/dull - only played the first few levels, so it might improve.

It'll be good to be able to pinch/zoom on the map screen....

Any way to make the cursor "snap" to a square, so that you're not messing around trying to find the floor of an object in the distance?

Overall, well worth the dosh. Nice frame rate.

Thanks for the kind words Hardbattle!

You're totally right about looking back towards the place you came from after teleporting, i'll put that into the update. The rest of your points are a bit harder to address i'm afraid.

I'll see about moving the buttons in a little bit, that might be possible without overlapping any others. The problem is that the touchable area of each button is already a lot bigger than the graphic itself, for easier pressing, and they are quite bunched up on the random level screen already. I hadn't considered skins at all though, so thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Colour wise I thought i'd made it super colourful! :)

Pinch zoom on the map was something i've considered but didn't do because of the added complexity. Especially now i've got even bigger maps coming in the Ice world it would be helpful to be able to zoom in though. Won't be in the coming update I don't think but i'll put it onto the list.

    The font...yeah - I need a real artist!

Your idea about locking to a square is cool one, perhaps just having a button so it locks the crosshair to the nearest square rather than it always happening would work too? I'll put that on the list too, but it won't be in the coming update as I need to get that finished and get the lite version out before undertaking any major coding.

Thanks again for your support, and it really helps to get some constructive criticism too.

No probs - sunk a couple of hours into this last night - It's a very, very good version.

If you want to get more downloads, I'd sugest a new thread on the main forum "iPhone and iPod Touch Games" so that people are aware of it. Let them know it's your game, post a picy or two, and a link to the app store....

This wasn't what I expected to see on here. :) I was a big fan of The Sentinel on the spectrum, incredibly addictive game so i'll be picking this one up the moment i've got the time.

ok Ive played it yesterday and today so Id like to share my thoughts :

-) great game has real Sentinel feeling, runs smooth without issues, difficulty level is like Sentinel Returns not a "high impact" like original first Sentinel... GUYS YOU GOTTA BUY THIS NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

now for the "improvement" (IMHO) part :

-) its almost impossible to see Watcher turning as its a spherical thing, you have to wait to see the pupil but it forces you then to act quickly ruining the strategic part, my opinion is to reshape it in order to understand wheres its turning (and speed of it) even when seeing it from the back

-) teleport doesnt turn view towards where you was before teleporting (already addressed by dev)

-) squares on the map are smaller than original ones this is not an issue but makes the map fell very small even if its bigger than an original sentinel level

-) you can "absorb" things created by you even when you dont see the square where they lie... if I recall correctly in the original you cant (I have to load C64 emulator to have confirmation on this)

-) Id like to have an energy meter always on screen like in the original in order to understand when Sentinel is draining my energy and how many energy I have to use

-) place buttons always on screen, they are a bit slow sometime to appear and if you have a Watcher near.... ouch! (time to remain under his sight is very little!)

-) Watcher doesnt seem to drain energy from things created by you that are under his sight, in Sentinel you see robots turning boulder than trees than disappear and the energy so drained by the sentinel was re-distributed in tree form randomly in the level

    Wannasee :

-) levels identical to original one with same method of jump and code-related

DONT GET ME WRONG I WROTE ABOVE ONLY BECAUSE I LOVE TO DEATH THIS GAME (I MADE THIS TOPIC...) BUT YOU HAVE DONE A GREAT JOB (IM STILL PLAYNG IT)

Yep - that's a good idea... Didn't the original have a "shaft" of light, like a beam from a lighthouse that rotates with the line of sight of the eye? How's about that?

Thanks again for the great feedback guys - just a quicky message as i'm at work right now :)

I'll see about putting a blade of light kind of thing in for the coming update - think it's a great idea.

The levels will be getting a lot bigger in the update - don't worry!

    Like the game so far

could you not have an unlock levels structure so you have to complete them in order give the game more structure

but loving the sentinel feel of this game cant wait for the update :)

I've written code to track which levels you have completed, it will be in the update - there is now a nice icon letting you know which you've already done.

I was going to lock out levels until you had completed earlier ones, i've even written that code, but i'm not sure i'll enable it as I like the kind of free-form feel of it, just you against the watchers!

Thanks for playing the game and your feedback!

Man Virus was a hard game - used to have it for my amiga and could never get very far with it. I think the standard amiga mouse being utter crap had something to do with it!
