    Hello all,

So my PC boot drive bit the big one, and I realized that I do not have a backup of my Itunes folder. All of my other apps and data were on other drives and are safe (whew!).

I put in a new hard drive, and reinstalled with Windows 7 (may as well upgrade the OS as long as it's dead).

I was able to recreate my MP3 and video libraries, but I'm stuck on the applications.

I found that I can transfer all of my purchases from my Iphone to the PC, and I've done that. But when I try to synch my applications with Itunes it tells me that it will delete all of my applications, I will lose all of my application data. I'm assuming that I can easily reinstall the applications since I can see them all in the list within Itunes. However, I'd REALLY like to be able to keep all of the data if I can.

I've been just synching everything else except for applications, but I'd really like to be able to use the tabs organizer in the new version of Itunes, and also my phone is full on apps now. So I want to be able to delete some, and then get them back later.

I obviously did some searching on the internet for help, but most of the stuff I've found is confusing as hell.

Does anyone have any good links that could help? Or know of a way i can keep my app data and still be able to synch with Itunes?

    Or am I just *&$%ed?

Thank in advance for any friendly advice.

Anyone have any suggestions at all? I won't bump again, just though I'd try since there were so many gamers here, I figured someone might have run through the same issue.

If you reinstalled the OS, you have to authorize your computer again.
You can also right click on the iPod touch window in itunes and choose "transfer purchases". I hope that helps.

You will have to download all your applications again.

I'm not 100% sure but if you did the "Transfer Purchases" then if you go to Apps, and Check for Updates - they might appear there.

Else, go page by page on your device and download everything.

The reason why iTunes is complaining is because your library ID is different now - that can be fixed, but would require a file from your previous install. :(

Thanks guys I appreciate your time.

Yeah, I did transfer the purchases to the computer from the Iphone and I can see them in my list of applications in Itunes. I've also authorized my PC with my Itunes account and can sync (and purchase) my music, videos, etc...

It looks like i'm just hosed since I don't have the file from my previous install. Shame on me for not having a backup of my Itunes folder I suppose. It just seems odd that I can transfer the purchases to the PC (same pc, new OS), but when I try to sync the phone with the applications it tells me it's going to delete all of the application data from the apps.

Anyway, thanks again for trying to help. Great community here at TA.
