Aralon sword and shadow really is a great game, it goes for iPhone as well as ipad, and for those lucky few who have both, (like me) it even features cloud save so you can play on the iphone while commuting and continue the same game whene you come home on the iPad. Neat little feature every game should have as standard. Anyway....Any RPG fan should pick it up either way for the joy of that game and not just as a wast of time Aaanyway....I do believe the 2 games are incomparable to each other. They feature 2 uniq but very different gameplay stiles. Aralon is the typical magical medival like sword and shield world where magic can be master by he or she who wishes so, where as the shadow sun features an post apocalyptic world where magic is either lost, depleted or forgotten to most, and more, the shadow sun offers compangions in your quests with opportunity to talk and make friends or be a jerk to those who follow you, where Aralon does not offer that to the same extent, that sounds like to very different play stiles to me. Wow....I think I got carried away here, sorry guys.
I know I'm in a minority here but Aralon wasnt that fun for me.It had the world and it had the graphics (sort of) but that game had HORENDOUS writing. The quests and the dialog was cringe inducing and I quit the after I met the black dragon.Nothing against CM they made a great game, but the quests and the writing ruined it all for me.For a game aiming for the "oblivion on ios" title it was very bland. And the elder scrolls games (esp Morrowind) had teriffic characters and writing. Its not just about the graphics and open-world.So my point is,I really put alot of hope into The Shadow Sun.Really hoping the devs put that extensive NWN experience to work .Oh and another staple of quality rpg making-Neverwinter Nights. But thats Bioware so...Got carried away.Best of wishes Ossian and dont dissapoint us potentially the best western RPG on iPhone.Been waiting on this one since the anouncement almost one year ago.Good luck Ossian Studios.
I guess the writings could have Been better, perhaps a little more inventive and creative quests, but I don't think it ruined the game that much, I played it through a few times by now and I'm not tired of it at all, so something keeps drawing me back, maybe it's the idea of the open world, and the fact that you can du whatever you want, whene your level is high enough you can kill every single character en the main city, or you can be the good guy and help every one out. Wee can agree that the game needs polish, but for a game that is the first of its kind, I though it did very well, I was impressed whene I saw it the first time anyway. If Ossian can deliver an experience like neverwinter nights I'm sold, well I'm sold anyway, this game is an instabuy for me, I just hope it does not disappoint me. My expectations for this game is ultra high, we are dealing with people that really know there way around this genre of games and I expect nothing less then the best from Thees guys.
My expectations for this are really high as well. It's been delayed like three times because the devs wanted to create perfect it....
Easy, fellas. Ossian really know their stuff. If they say it needs more work, I'm more than happy to wait.
I feel the same way, im harpy to wait as well, I'm just so exited about this game that the waiting is tough, but worth it I'm sure.
A thought.... Okay, I've given this a lot of thought...I think Ossian Studios is going to release a trailer around Thanksgiving day. Let me emphasize hat this is purely my OWN speculation, and not an announcement of any kind. It's just that the holiday is growing nearer and I've been pondering on all the things I'm grateful for, and I figure this would be the perfect little cherry on top if a trailer were released around then. If posting in this thread is any hint, I'm soooo excited for this game. They said it will come out this Fall, which means it could be anytime between now and December 21st. That's not very specific, but at least it's something. I only ask that Ossian please, please, PLEASE, don't push this thing back again! But, god forbid, if you must, don't wait until the very last week of Fall to tell us! I really don't think that's a lot to ask. I know you guys are very secretive about your games, but at least have some compassion on us poor souls, and stop teasing us with your release dates. Anyway, that's all I have to say about that. Maybe we should start a wish list of features while we wait...just a thought. Bow and arrow anyone?
Anything new,Ossian? Please dont torture us .Give us something.I wont survive a third posponing of this game.We NEED a good western RPG on the iPhone, and you are the people that can deliver it.So please, post someting, an update, a screenshot or even better-a release date (yeah I know I'm getting greedy). Good luck guys
I can agree. If Ossian is going to delay this game further, I hope they'll tell us soon. We've been waiting for a long, long time already. If there is a delay, they'd better show us some new media - otherwise, this game may as well have been overhyped and already in the scrap heap. I don't know....The team has got a lot of development pedigree, yet, they've given and shown us so little. The games' reputation is running off of their pedigree and the expectations of RPG enthusiasts. It's rare any iOS offering can sustain a year of excitement, especially when nothing has been shown in that year. Ossian, c'mon and deliver on your promise
