Agreed. I'll give him one thing, there's not much he can do about an uncooperative Congress, but he can sure give a good talk.
It's sadly ironic that people in Egypt flooded the streets to celebrate having earned their freedom through peaceful protesting, while people in America flood the streets to celebrate having shot someone to death. I guess we Americans gotta celebrate what we do best, pushing people around with our military might and killing fools. Okay, this is basically what collapsed the Roman Empire. They stretched themselves too thin trying to police the world, conquer the world with the military, while their economy and their civilization collapsed domestically from within. Those who do not learn from their mistakes are destined to repeat them. If you've played the video game Homefront, you've seen a fictional representation of the cycle being completed and U.S. falling, like Rome fell, for the exact same reason. Granted, things would have to play out differently for that to happen. It really couldn't unfold existed how it's dipicted in Homefront, but something similiar, if you changed up the players, could concievably happen. I'm not saying Usama didn't deserve to go. I'm just turned off by Americans dancing in the streets like fools celebrating it. Where the hell is your sense of enlightenment at? This is why Americans get the reputation of a bunch of gun-tottin' rednecks. Bush turned us all into a bunch of war-mongering idiots. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind, ya jackass. Their's no way this would've happened with Bush as president, because he used Usama to justify 8 years of war that, for the most part, had nothing to due with Usama Let me ask you this. How do you "win the war on terror"? The answer is, you don't. Terrorism is an ideal. Not an institution. You cannot kill an ideal with guns. Attacking an ideal with guns only makes it stronger. Enlightment is the only win this war. Not guns. Not bombs. Enlightenment.
Amazing speech by Obama. This event pretty much solidifies Obama's reelection this year. I never really expected this to happen but I'm glad it did. Also, apparently the dollar value has also gone up because of this haha.
