He specifically said "May" but of course, it is out of his hands and the publisher has the final say, but that's apparently what was told to him. A release day in May was set. It also makes no sense for kaiser to show up here after 1000 posts and give the wrong info.
He isn't. Just received word from Pavel. He assured me O2 has been submitted to AppStore. He also sent me the final version of the game - now, I'm off to create a Strategy Guide.
Almost Here I don`t want to be a bother or sth, but when do you think that you`ll finish the Strategy Guide Menneisyys? I can`t wait for the new stuff
Not directly Orions 2 related but does anyone here who here who has some contact with the developer know if we will ever see a fix for the flicker at the top of the screen in Orions 1. I stupidly updated and deleted the old version before I knew about the issue and while not game breaking I do find it highly annoying
fixing bugs.. are you serious? you must be kidding.. i mean what the heck.. i am speechless.. how can you even assume they would do such a thing.. bugfixing?! i'm shocked and puzzled..
Not to mention the other half dozen NEW BUGS I listed a few pages back! Sheesh. The new 'update' was the most shameful I think I've ever gotten for an iphone app.
Yeah, this latest Orions update was ridiculously buggy, introducing new bugs in a bug-fix-only update and making them even worse than the bugs that were already there is just WRONG.
I would be amazed if they released another update for O1. It took them long enough to release the last update and I suspect that was only done to raise awareness of the game in preparation for O2; I say that because the update was almost entirely cosmetic and added virtually nothing in terms of real content or bug squashing. From a customer point of view, the update was pretty pointless. From the developer's/publisher's point of view, it served as a precursor to O2; nothing more, nothing less. If my opinion is wrong, I trust someone with the facts will step in and correct me. I agree with amn624 - check your recycle bin in case the previous version of O1 is still lurking in there. Good luck.
I don't know why there are doubts. To me it's crystal clear that the O1 update was purely for advertising. The little conspiracy theorist in me would suggest that they intentionally breaked the game in order to make us have to buy O2 in order to experience a full bug-free content, but I wouldn't go that far.
There's won't be any more work done to O1; it's locked-in now. Which is sort of sad, since that means the final version will go down in history as a bug-ridden nightmare.
Well, you have to wonder if it's even going to sell now. While I have played it a lot, even with the O2 beta, as soon as I have opponents to play with, any incentive to play O:LoW is probably going to evaporate. Others will probably feel the same way, so Chillingo will wonder why they should even offer to fix it. As well, they'd be crazy not to reduce O:LoW to $0.99 as kind of an O2 lite, so there's probably little incentive for Chillingo to provide another update. Of course, it's a really sad commentary on Chillingo and I really, really hope someone (Kaiser?) is viewing the thread to see how we feel. It's just atrocious that this update UNfixed the app. How could this possibly pass through their QA without being noticed? Good grief.
I don't even notice any bugs in O other than what seems to be an ocassional earthquake where the screen shakes, but as a San Franciscan, doesn't bother me too much I only play in duel mode these days so maybe the bugs are more on the campaign side? That said, I don't know why I'd play O1 once O2 comes out and the update was clearly a marketing move, maybe something more devious.
