Chillingo has become a lazy shadow of what they once were. There is no excuse for the game PUBLISHER (i.e. the entity responsible for publishing and, ostensibly, MARKETING the game) to point to either a developer site OR a freakin' forum thread on an app review site of all places as the place to go for information about the game! This is wrong on so many levels! And to think we considered doing business with them at one point. Bullet dodged there and so sorry MoreGames is involved with them. :(

    reporting for beatdown!

can't wait for O2 - i recently started playing again and keeps me entertained on the 30 minute walk to and from work. its dangerously addictive....i have become one of those douchebags that walks head down staring at their iphone - i can't help it!

i haven't read through this whole thread. I hope in addition to the new cards there is a bit of rebalancing. imho the fairy is OP, along with a couple other cards.

    cheers, dc

    Countdown clock

The page linked for the other "upcoming" title for "upcoming" on the Chillingo site actually has a countdown clock.

    http://games2be.com/

Might as well adopt this as our own countdown clock, no?

6 Days 4 hours 6 minutes 25 seconds to go!

so that means release in 2 weeks?

and why can one developer show his release date and the other not?

No, I'm assuming (hoping actually) that the releases will coincide. Not sure about the second question but the developer said he wasn't sure he was supposed to reveal the dae.

he was not sure.. how about asking or talking a look into their publishing contract? odd :)

well at the end it does not matter.. its out when its out.. will be interesting how it will compete this time with alot more other products..

orions is still orions.. the question is if it will spark a bigger interest than the first time.. somehow i'm looking forward more to how it sells than the actual game (which is not a big difference than the first, except mp which i personaly don't care)

Fairy is so OP. It's true. It could cost 5 and be totally playable. And it's tier 1? Pfft. Silly. Not a game goes by in campaign mode that I dont' beeline for an air town.

Also OP, imo (this is based on 50+ Campaign on Hard games)
    - Dryad
    - Werewolf
    - Fireball
    - Life sacrifice
    - Pegasus
    - Air faction
    - Earth faction (to a lesser degree)

    IMO underpowered:
    - Priest
    - Ghost
    - Dark Lord
    - Curse
    - Poseidon
    - Cover of Darkness

    My list:
    OP
    - Fairy - such a game changer and so darn cheap
    - Satyr - insanely cost efficient
    - Bloody Wind - it's simply annoying not to be able to cast anything strong for fear your enemy will insta-kill it next turn
    - Dryad - it's basically a 10 attacker for 4 Earth if surrounded by the ultra cheap Satyrs.
    - Darklord - We also used to think he was underpowered untill we started using him and fell in love with him. Even though it's cast doesn't work (it reduces his attack to 0... bug I guess), he offers crazy sustainability if not killed outright (and he is not all that easy to kill)
    - Poison/Sea Justice - Water has those 2 little spells which completely destroy big creatures. Very annoying.

    UP
    - Poseidon - he's simply meh
    - Curse - I mathed out why it is unefficient. If you want I'll tell you, but it's long and boring. Simply put, it's not worth it.
    - Ghost - Although in combination with Ice Guard his cast becomes ok-ish, he's still one of the worst creatures.
    - Demon - a bit too weak for his cost
    - Firelord - no reason to cast him instead of Effrett or Vulcan
    - Nymph - see Demon
    - Purify - the only scenario where this spell is good is when you have 3 priests on the terrain. Otherwise it's meh.

I think Darlkord is middle of the road, if not more on the OP side. He can be a bastard to get rid of, especially if he is on the far right of the board (so any deaths before you get to him end up healing him).

I used to never play Demons but actually they can get your fire up to a high level so quickly, and there are great high level fire cards, plus they have decent life and IIRC are level 5 (I need to confirm that) so they survive Quicksands, the bane of all low level cards.

Most of the cards on the OP list though I wouldn't change or if I did it wouldn't be much. There will always be favorite cards. The Fairy though is almost a game breaker it can wreak so much damage for so little mana that I'd definitely like to see it nerfed.

The UP list should definitely be boosted. I wish Curse had better economics since you are giving up a cast for it. I also find Purify almost never is a useful card.

O2 must be one of the most highly anticipated iOS games of the year so far. I hope it lives up to expectations. :)

Agreed. I almost never use it myself either. Probably against a user casting water creatures far too frequently. (Not existing in O2 any more.)
Agreed, never use it myself either, particularly now that there's no Ice Guard in O2.

Yeah, weak, but can be useful in some cases when you absolutely must get as much fire elements as possible. Nevertheless, the new "Blood Ritual" in o2 is almost always a FAR better choice for the same.

    Agreed. Removed from O2.

Now it has 14 HP as opposed to the old 10 - that is, a better card now.

Yup, an absolute must on one's deck (with constructed decks).

It's been made more expensive in O2 (3 vs 2).

It has no spell in O2 any more. (Its spell stealing ability worked just great in the WinMo version, though.)
Agreed. No Sea Justice in O2 though - albeit there're similar, new spells.

Now with the removal of Paladin in O2, it has become even harder to get rid of him...
